Pantalone Genshin Impact: Fact Profile, and the 9th Lore Harbinger

You may have heard the name Fatui Harbinger Pantalone or Regrator several times in the character's voiceline Genshin Impact or conversation NPCs.

Occupying the 9th seat, the character design is on Teyvat The teaser that was released a few moments before had made a splash because it was similar to Baizhu and Aizen from the anime Bleach.

Pantalone Genshin Impact Profile

The name "Pantalone" was first mentioned by an NPC from Mondstadt named Goths. Goth said that his hotel was rented at exorbitant rates for Fatui's needs only.

Pantalone or codename Regrator is one of the higher-ups of the Snezhnaya organization named Fatui or referred to as Fatui Harbinger.

When viewed from the design, the official who occupies the 9th seat has a design similar to Baizhu, namely wearing chain glasses with bangs in the middle.

The thing that differentiates the two characters is that Pantalone has black hair while Baizhu has green hair.

Pantalone was responsible for managing the finances and regulations related to Snezhnaya's economy, including doing business and opening a bank called Northland Bank.

Childe in the voiceline about Regrator implicitly said that Pantalone also provided all the finances for Fatui's needs.

In Yelan's character story "Umbrabilis Orchis Chapter: Act I – Calculated Gambit", it is said that Pantalone has a dream to make Snezhnaya the heart or economic center of Teyvat.

So, it is not impossible that he wants to dominate Teyvat's economic share through a business that is not necessarily good.

Voiceline Scaramouche or Wanderer also said that Pantalone has a very close partner relationship with another Fatui Harbinger, namely Dottore.

Considering that Dottore did a lot of bad business such as creating the Ruin Guard, the business that the two Harbingers were doing was suspicious.

In the World Quest "Big Business" you will help a businessman named Landa to find invoices that have been blown away by the wind. 

 You will encounter an NPC named Bao'er while searching for one of the invoices in the area near Dihua Marsh.

After the quest you will be warned by Bao'er not to find out more about what business you are doing because it is a dangerous business.

When you read Noelle's character story, you will find out that Landa is a Fatui agent who is on a business trip for Pantalone.

The idle conversation spoken by Landa also said "... this will make it difficult for Pantalone" which indicates that this NPC is working for Pantalone

Pantalone Facts

All Genshin Impact characters have unique backgrounds and histories, and Pantalone is no exception.

In several previous quests Childe had said that each Fatui was recruited by another, especially by Pierro or Jester as the director of the Fatui Harbinger.

Each Fatui Harbinger has their own mission that is obligated to them. However, these Harbingers were also given the freedom to carry out individual objectives that they themselves wanted.

The name Pantalone along with another Fatui Harbinger is taken from the name of a character from the Italian theater story, Commedia dell'arte.

In the commedia dell'arte, Pantalone is described as a wealthy merchant who was extremely miserly and greedy with money.

Together with Ill Dottore, Pantalone often made many evil plans which were used as the comedy part of the theatrical productions of the Commedia dell'arte.

If you look at the background inspiration for Pantalone's name and various voicelines from the game, the writer suspects that Pantalone's reason for becoming Fatui Harbinger is closely related to money.

Lore About Pantalone

The supposedly strongest Lore for Pantalone is listed in one of the artifacts Pale Flames.

The Moment of Cessation artifact section is the part where you can find out why Pantalone became a Fatui Harbinger.

Compared to other Fatui Harbingers, Pantalone is one who was born a human like Childe.

The description of the lore in the artifact indicates that Pantalone is from Liyue, a region in Genshin Impact known as a source of money because their Archon, Morax, can produce Mora.

This is also reinforced by Arlecchino's sentence in “Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter's Night Lazzo” which insinuates that Pantalone is more comfortable in his homeland running Northland Bank than holding Signora's death ceremony.

The artifact lore also says that Pantalone was born poor, slightly similar to Ningguang.

Unfortunately, Pantalone is not given Vision which is considered to make it easier to find money.

Based on his greed for money and Pantalone's frustration with Heavenly Principles not giving him Vision, Pantalone has a strong desire to be on par with Gods.

This was evident from Pantalone's desire to dominate Teyvat's economy and become Snezhnaya's economic center to replace Liyue.

Thus the profile and various interesting facts related to Pantalone. Although it is still confusing, Pantalone is rumored to be one of the Fatui Harbingers who will become playable with Arlecchino.
