Shinichi Kudo is a student at Teitan High School who is famous for successfully helping the Tokyo police to solve various mysterious murder cases.

He is the son of Yusaku Kodo, a mysterious writer, and Yukiko Kudo, a former film actress.

Shinichi first met Ran when they were in kindergarten. He manages to see a strange thing which turns out to be a preparation to kidnap Ran.

The kidnapping was foiled. Shinichi and Ran then begin to develop a friendship when Shinichi protects her from bullies.

Shinichi Kudo is the real identity of Conan Edogawa who is actually his form when he was 6 years old.

He shrank back into a small child after drinking a mysterious poison resulting from an experiment called APTX 4869.

The incident occurred in Tropical Land when he was celebrating Ran's victory in a karate competition.

After solving a murder case, Shinichi separates from Ran to follow a mysterious figure.

Unfortunately, he didn't realize that someone else was following him. The person then beat him until he fainted and forced him to drink APTX 4869.

Instead of killing Shinichi, a rare side effect of the poison actually turned him into a child.
