MSC 2023 Match Format

MSC System

Like the previous format, MSC 2023 will be held in two phases. Starting with the group phase which will compete all the teams in a point collecting scheme, then proceed with the playoffs which carry a knockout system.

Reflecting on yesterday's MSC 2022, the 12 teams will be divided into 4 different groups, where each group will consist of three teams. In this system, the matches that take place will adopt the best of 2 (BO2) system: the team that scores 2 first will be the winner of the match.

In each match, a win will be rewarded with a score of 3, a draw will receive a score of 1, while a loss will not receive a score.

Then, the top two from each group will advance to the playoffs. Therefore, there will be 8 teams that will advance to the next round, while the remaining 4 will be eliminated.

As for the playoffs, players will face a double elimination system that applies the Upper and Lower Bracket systems.

For those who are familiar with the match format that is carried MPL, the same thing applies to MSC.

In this phase, the BO5 system will be applied to all rounds, except for the Upper Bracket Semi Final which uses BO3 and the Grand Final which uses the BO7 system.

This is used so that the competition can provide a longer and more interesting spectacle.

However, it is worth remembering that this is the system used in previous MSCs.

So it can be said that the system is a subject that is not stable and there is still the possibility of changing according to the existing dynamics.
