EVOS Legends Wins the 2022 MLBB President's Cup Closed Qualifier

The Mobile Legends Presidential Cup has three qualifiers namely the Open Qualifier which contains 2048 teams from all over Indonesia, the Regional Qualifier which is divided into East and West, and finally the Closed Qualifier which EVOS Legends recently won.

MLBB President's Cup 2022 Closed Qualifiers

One of the qualification methods to get to the 2022 MLBB President's Cup main event is with a Closed Qualifier.

In the Closed Qualifier, there are a total of eight teams invited by the organizer of the 2022 Esports Mobile Legends Presidential Cup. The teams that received the invitations were:

1. AURA Fire
2. Alter Ego X
3. EVOS Legends
4. Rebellion Zion
5. Bigetron Alpha
6. RRQ Hoshi
7. ONIC Prodigy
8. Indonesian Geek Fam

All teams start the Closed Qualifier in the Upper Bracket. The team that then loses will go to the Lower Bracket. When a team playing in the Lower Bracket loses, it will fall.

Only six teams then qualified for the 2022 President's Cup main event stage. Therefore, there were two teams that failed to qualify for the Main Event. The teams that failed to qualify were AURA Fire and ONIC Prodigy.

Other teams have the right to qualify to play in the competitive MLBB President's Cup Main Event 2022. Not only that, there is one team that won the Closed Qualifier, namely EVOS Legends.

EVOS Legends recently became a hot topic of conversation because they failed to qualify for the MPL Indonesia Season 10 Playoffs. Even so, they managed to show their abilities through this Closed Qualifier.

The Journey of EVOS Legends in the Closed Qualifier

EVOS Legends started their matches in the Closed Qualifier by losing against Rebellion Zion. After fighting RBL, they immediately went into the Lower Bracket because they lost against RBL with a score of 2-0.

After that, they didn't give up and immediately sent AURA Fire home from the Closed Qualifier with a score of 2-0.

EVOS Legends continued against Bigetron Alpha and again won the match with a landslide score of 2-0.

Alter Ego X is the next opponent for EVOS Legends. However, EVOS Legends managed to win the match at a very fast tempo, winning two matches at once in less than 15 minutes.

Before reaching the final, EVOS Legends faced Geek Fam Indonesia. This time, there was resistance as Geek Fam initially won the first match. However, EVOS Legends won the next two matches and advanced to the finals.

Final Closed Qualifier: EVOS Legends vs Rebellion Zion

EVOS Legends met Rebellion Zion again after having to accept defeat in the first round of the Upper Bracket.

However, this final round match had a different outcome so that EVOS Legends could win the Presidential Cup Closed Qualifier.

EVOS Legends initially won the first match with enough resistance between the two teams. Branz as a Gold Laner uses Irithel and manages to become MVP in the first match.

Furthermore, the second match was won by Rebellion Zion thanks to snowball and very strong tempo. Dyrennn used the Phoeveus hero to become the MVP for the second match.

Seeing that this match is bo3 or Best of 3, the third match will determine who will win the Closed Qualifier.

The third match, of course, was won by EVOS Legends. It should be noted that the third match was very fierce, seeing that the net worth of the two teams was only 1k gold different.

However, EVOS Legends managed to win a close team fight with Lord so they were able to wipe out the RBL base.

Total Prizes for the 2022 MLBB President's Cup Closed Qualifiers

Even though it is only a qualification, there are also prizes given to winners from first place to fourth place.

According to Liquipedia, there is a total prize of Rp. 19 million. For the first winner, EVOS Legends, they received a total prize of Rp. 10 million.

Furthermore, the second winner, namely RBL, received a total prize of Rp. 5 million, the third winner, namely Geek Fam, received Rp. 2.5 million, and finally the fourth winner, Alter Ego X, received Rp. 1.5 million.
