MPL Invitational 2023

For those of you who are just diving into the world of Esports, maybe you don't understand the definition of MPLI itself?

Well, MPLI is an abbreviation for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Invitational. MPLI is an MLBB tournament that invites professional teams to compete.

MPLI itself is an annual tournament held regularly by Montoon before the M-Series World Championships are held.

However, this time there is something different about MPLI 2023 because it uses an unusual format than before.

Apart from that, the drawing group for this tournament will also be determined from the results of the 'Fan Vote'.

Then, participants in the tournament came from various countries. These include Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines and Cambodia, as well as presenting 3 new regions, namely Mena, North America and China.

MPLI 2023 schedule

It was mentioned that MPLI 2023 will be held in mid-November. So, when will the MPLI actually be held?

This tournament will start on November 15 2023 which will start with a group stage that will last for two days.

Later all the teams will be divided into four groups until finally they will reach the Playoff stage. A more complete format will be explained below.

So, the schedule for each round in MPLI 2023 which will be held for 5 days starting on 15 – 19 November 2023 is as follows:

• Group Phase: 15 – 16 November 2023.
• Playoffs: 17 – 19 November 2023.
• Grand Finals: November 19, 2023.

MPLI 2023 format

As previously mentioned, MPLI 2023 will present something new compared to the previous year.

Because, this competition uses a different format and adds new regions, namely North America, Mena and China.

The format itself for the group stage will use a round robin format and the group drawing will be determined based on the results of fan voting.

The 16 teams will be divided into four groups each containing four teams that will compete using the Best of 1 (BO1) scheme.

Later, the winning team will continue to fill the upper bracket position and the runner-up team will fill the lower bracket and in the end there will be two teams that will continue to the playoff round.

So, the team in the lowest position will definitely fall and will automatically not be able to continue to the next round.

Next, in this playoff round, all teams will compete with Best of 3 (BO3) and in the Grand Final will use the Best of 5 (BO5) scheme.

MPLI Prize Pool 2023

For the prize pool from MPLI 2023 itself, the amount has reached $100,000 or the equivalent of Rp. 1.57 billion will be given to the winner.

At MPLI 2022, the competition was won by ONIC Esports. However, this year the team was absent from MPLI 2023 due to the condition of its members and internal schedule problems that go along with MPLI.

Therefore, to replace the empty slot in MPLI 2023 is EVOS Legends.
