How to Activate Steam Mobile Authenticator, Note This!

Steam is really a great platform to download and play PC games. You can use the steam mobile authenticator on your cellphone. 

This platform has become very popular over the years and has become the go-to platform for millions of users to download and play online games. Even though Steam is primarily a gaming platform, it still has many social network features.

What is Steam Mobile Authenticator? 

Steam a mobile authenticator is an additional security measure that ensures that the person trying to access an online account is who they say they are.

Two-factor authentication requires an additional login process where you must enter a verification code sent to your phone number or email address. Only after receiving the code will you be able to recover your online account.

Steam has two features but under different names, Steam Guard. The Steam security code will be sent to you via the Steam app on your phone or to your registered email address.

How to Activate Steam Mobile Authenticator

To enable the steam mobile authenticator or Steam Guard on your Steam account, follow the simple steps below;

1. Open Steam on your computer and click the Steam icon in the top left corner. In the list of options, click Settings.
2. In the Settings window, click the Account option on the left.
3. On the right, click the Manage Steam Account Security option. Select the “Get Steam Security Code from the Steam app on my phone” option in Manage Steam Security.
4. Now open the Steam app on the phone and click on the hamburger menu in the top left corner. In the menu that appears, tap Steam Guard.
5. On the Steam Security screen, click the Add Authenticator button. Steam will now send an SMS code to the registered phone number. You have to enter this code and hit the submit button. 
6. Now Steam will provide a recovery code. You have to store them and store them in the warehouse. 
7. Once done, you will see a 5 digit code in Steam Guard. This code will change automatically in seconds. 

Now, whenever you try to log in to your Steam account from a new device, you will be asked to enter the Steam security code. You must enter the code from your mobile to access the account.

How To Get Steam Security Code By Email

If you're not using the mobile app, you can choose to receive a Steam security code via email. If you select this option, Steam will send a verification code to the registered email address. Here's how to get a two-factor authentication code via email;

1. Go to the Steam desktop and click the Steam icon in the upper left corner. In the list of options that appears, tap 
2. In the Settings window, switch to the Account tab on the left.
3. On the right, click Manage Steam Account Security. On the Manage Steam Guard page, select “Receive Steam Guard Code by Email”.
