How to Add Friends in Valorant

Valorant is a game that mandates teamwork. But it's much more fun to play with friends than strangers. Unfortunately, many people still don't know how to add friends in Valorant.

But novice players often wonder how to add friends in Valorant. This guide covers the steps players can take to send friend requests to other players.

How to Add Friends in Valorant

Valorant is one of the most popular first-person shooter games from Riot Games. The new tactical shooter was released just a few months ago and has become one of the most talked about video games in the gaming community. 

The game developer has made significant improvements to the title since its global launch and introduced various content and features to excite fans.

Since team effort and synergy are two of the most important elements of 5v5 shooters, it also allows gamers to stay connected with users they have previously worked with.

This allows the player to stay connected with all his close friends and also his best teammates using the feature “friends”.

Adding new friends on Valorant can be confusing for many new users. You should notice that their username consists of two parts: Riot ID and Tagline. 

If Riot's ID is unique, the tagline is a no-brainer. If ID Riot picked up by some players, the tagline serves as an identifier.

You can find their tagline on the Riot Client homepage or after logging in to the game. Hover over the username. 

ID and the full Riot Tagline will appear. On the main screen, players will find a plus icon in the lower right corner. 

Clicking on it opens a sub-menu asking for Riot ID and Tagline. Fill in Riot ID and Tagline your friends without hashtags.

Submitting this will send a friend request. Note that the ID and friend tags must be accurate for a successful connection. 

The final step is on the side of friends. A new friend request appears in the right corner of the screen. How, very easy right?

How to Accept Friend Requests in Valorant

Once you have logged in to your Valorant account, you will see a small pop-up notification box in the lower right corner of the screen with all the new friend requests. 

To accept a friend request, you just need to tap the green 'Add Friend' button. To decline a request, you can press 'X' right next to 'Add Friend'. 

If you want to check more friend requests, you can use the arrow buttons on either side of the notification box. After accepting the friend request, the user will be added to the friends list.

Remember that you must enter your friend's username separately in the Riot ID field. You must then enter the string of numbers next to their username in the Tagline field. 

If you want a friend to add you but are having trouble finding the required information, simply expand the right sidebar again and click on the found username at the top. 

This will display a small window displaying the in-game name next to a series of four numbers along with the current rank.
