How to Play Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is games by genres RPGs or Role Playing Games. This means that you will become a character while playing the game.

When the game starts, you will be asked to choose a character or what you are called traveler which you will play until the end of the game.

Traveler selection is divided into two genders: male and female. You can freely choose the name you use or you can also use the default names, namely Aether (male) and Lumine (female).

After that, you will play in a character party containing a maximum of 4 characters where you can get characters in various ways.

Next, you can follow the storyline of the game by doing various tasks called Quests.

Because the world system in Genshin Impact is Open World, you are free to explore various places to play puzzles, hunt for chests, and more.

However, there are several places that require you to complete the Quest to open the place, for example Enkanomiya, Tsurumi Island, The Chasm: Underground, and others.

You can also play Genshin Impact solo or multiplayer. The multiplayer system will make it easier for you to play with fellow Traveler friends.

Genshin Impact Quest System

The quest is divided into 3 parts, namely: Archon Quest, World Quest, and Character Story Quest.

Archon Quest is a quest that contains the main story of the game Genshin Impact. You have to complete the Archon Quest to continue the game to complete it and even open certain regions such as Inazuma.

World Quests are a series of Quests given by various NPCs. Mostly, some quests are not mandatory for you to do. 

However, there are also various important World Quests that you must complete to unlock locations.

For example, the Enkanomiya area. You must complete the World Quests The Moon-Bathed Deep and The Still Water's Flow.

Character Story Quest is a quest that contains an introduction to the various 5 star characters that you play.

This quest is similar to the World Quest in that you don't have to do most of it. However, there are several quests that are related to Archon Quests or to unlock certain bosses.

For example, Zhongli's Story Quest, Historia Antiqua, you have to complete the second part to open Weekly Boss Azhdaha. 

To open the Story Quest and Archon Quest, you usually need at least a certain AR or Adventure Rank level for you to access it.

Next, you have to press Story Quest and use 1 key to open each character's Story Quest.

You can get 1 new key when you complete 8 Daily Commissions and you can only have a maximum of 3 keys. 

Apart from that, there is also a Hangout Event which is a Quest to get to know 4 star characters. You have to use 3 keys to open this Hangout Event.

How to Explore World Genshin Impact

As a beginner player, exploring the world of Genshin Impact is certainly very important. You have to collect or what is called farming materials, collect food, and so on.

Genshin Impact offers various ways to explore. Generally there are basic movements, namely: walking, running, climbing, swimming and fast swimming.

However, you will also be able to fly using a Glider so it is called Gliding.

All of these movements will require stamina which will be indicated by a yellow bar next to the character.

How to Increase World Level

As discussed in the Quest system section, you have to upgrade 2 things to help explore and carry out various Quests. These systems are Adventure Rank (AR) and World Level (WL).

Adventure Rank is the level of your account. The maximum for each account to date is AR 60.

The way to increase Adventure Rank is by collecting Adventure Experience or what is called EXP. You can get EXP from various things, namely:

• Doing Quests
• Fight enemies and bosses in the World
• Collect Chests

However, there are times when the Adventure Rank does not level up. For this, you have to do the Adventure Rank Ascension Quest.

Adventure Rank Ascension Quest is carried out to continue increasing the AR level and will automatically increase the World Level.

In certain ARs, you will get the Ascension Quest automatically. Complete it and you can do various other quests.

World Level is the difficulty level of each player's World. When WL increases, the level of difficulty of fighting bosses and enemies will also increase.

However, the quality and quantity level of domain materials, enemy drops, and boss drops will increase as WL increases.

Apart from that, some material Domains also have AR level requirements to be opened. Generally, new artifact domains can be unlocked at AR 25.

However, the artifact drops will get better at higher AR levels which will also increase the difficulty of the Trials you have to do.

How to Get Characters

This may be a little confusing for new Genshin Impact players. Therefore, this guide will also fully discuss how to get characters.

Playable characters are various characters that you can play and join a team to fight enemies or just make exploration easier.

When you play, Genshin Impact will give you 4 initial or starter characters, namely:

• Traveler (Lumine or Aether) 5 stars
• Amber 4 stars
• Kaeya 4 stars
• Lisa 5 stars

Next, you can get the 5 star character you want through the Gacha or Wish Banner system.

Wish banners are divided into 2, namely Limited which contains 5 star characters which can only be obtained during a certain time period and Standard which you can withdraw at any time.

Gacha in Genshin Impact has a system where you will definitely get a 5 star character on the 80th gacha pull. Every 10 pulls you will definitely get a 4 star character or weapon. 

However, you also have to pay attention to the pity system. The pity system is divided into 2, namely On Rate and Off Rate. 

On Rate is when you definitely get a 5 star character from the banner and Off rate which allows you to get a 5 star character or weapon from Standard or Limited.

To be able to do Gacha pull, you have to use an exchange tool called Primogems.

How to Get Weapons

Just like characters, you can also get weapons through Gacha. Banner Gacha weapons have a slightly different system 

There is a system called Epitomized Path on the weapon banner which will ensure you get the weapon you want.

If you get a weapon that you don't want, you will automatically get Fate Points. If you have collected 2 Fate Points, you will definitely get the weapon you want.

Weapons can also be obtained from Forging. You just have to come to a blacksmith or blacksmith in various regions, for example Wagner in Mondstadt, Master Zhang in Liyue, or Estelle in Fontaine.

Weapons will require a Blueprint called Billet and materials from certain ores such as Starsilver or White Iron Chunk.

How to Increase Character Strength
