He's been languishing in a cave for quite some time. Ironically, Aulus hasn't been meta since his initial release. So, for those curious about the details of his revamp, check it out!

Aulus Skill Revamp
Now let's get straight to the skill explanation. In this revamp, all of his skills are completely new. It's no surprise that Aulus appears as a new hero in the trailer.
Different from the lore of other revamped heroes, it is said that the current hero is a replacement "young" Leonin figure. Aulus “old” who finally retired and left his axe.
The mechanics themselves combine several existing heroes without forgetting the "identity" of the old Aulus. So, to make things clearer, here's an explanation of the skills. Aulus Revamp:
Passive: Fighting Spirit
- Previously, his stack-based passive only added attack speed and penetration. These stacks could be increased by dealing damage to enemy heroes. Furthermore, the stacks also increased in strength as Aulus's axe (ultimate) level increased. When the stacks were full (maximum 4), Aulus also gained additional basic attack damage and movement speed.;
- Now: The system is still based on stack accumulation with the same mechanics. However, in addition to gaining attack speed, the movement speed boost has been transformed into a strengthened basic attack. This allows Aulus to slam into the ground and unleash a lava path (increasing area of effect (AoE) damage) repeatedly as long as the stacks remain intact—much like his old ultimate.
Skill 1: Aulus, Charge!
- Past: Aulus removes all slow effects, gains additional movement speed, and gains a shield that can reduce damage coming from the front;
- Now: Aulus charges for a few seconds. During this time, he removes slow effects and gains additional movement speed. Newly, during this charging period, his stacks also accumulate automatically. Furthermore, the shield has been replaced with crowd control (CC) immunity. However, this immunity will only activate if his skill is not canceled by high control effects (airborne, frozen, petrified, transformed, and suppressed) during charging.
Skill 2: The Power of Axe
- Past: Aulus slams into an area with a fan-shaped AoE, dealing physical damage. If an enemy creep or hero is hit, his basic attacks are boosted for a few seconds, allowing him to gain lifesteal.;
- Now: Aulus still slams into the area with a fan-shaped AoE, dealing physical damage. The difference is, this time, the affected hero is also slowed, and Aulus can use his skill 2 once again as a circular AoE blink (dealing physical damage)—just like the Minotaur's jump skill!
Ultimate: Cleaving Ax (Previously: Undying Fury)
- Past: Aulus is one of the few heroes with an ultimate that also has a passive. As the ultimate level increases, Aulus becomes stronger, gaining additional basic attack damage (level 4), additional AoE range (level 8), and penetration (level 12). As for his active skill, he slams the ground and can create a lava path with a straight AoE (like Hylos's ultimate). Units hit by his punch and above the lava path will receive damage and a slow effect.;
- Now: Moonton has removed all those complicated mechanisms. New, Aulus swings his axe with a circular AoE five times around him. On the final slash, he regains CC immunity. During this skill, Aulus can deal physical damage, increase and decrease damage, and increase movement speed.
