Tales of Arise: Action and Combat With Stunning Visuals

Tales of Arise is one of the released JRPG games Bandai Namco Studios last September 10, 2021.

The JRPG genre itself is an extension of Japanese Roleplaying Games where there are typical Japanese anime elements for art, sound, language, characters and so on.

Background Story Tales of Arise

For 300 Years, Rena has ruled Dahna, plundering all resources and stripping the people of the planet of freedom and dignity.

In this game, you will meet Alphen and Shionne. Two people born from different worlds, seek each other for a chance to change their destiny and create a new future.

Alphen begins his adventure as a slave for the Renans, a mysterious group that invaded Dahna 300 years ago.

Fate brings Alphen with Shionne. A beautiful woman who is a Renan with a mysterious power who is gloomy and closed.

The two of them must flee to save her life before getting into a much bigger plot, namely rescuing and freeing Dahna from the tyrannical King Renan.

During their journey, Alphen and Shionne did have a lot of arguments with each other. However, the necessity to survive makes the two grow close to each other.

The Gameplay

In this game, Bandai Namco tries to show the atmosphere with smooth and beautiful “Shader” graphics. These graphics are inspired by the anime and have a touch like a watercolor painting (watercolor).

Players will be invited to explore the world of Dahna where there are various unique natural environments that change their appearance based on the time of day.

You can also do various activities such as climbing rocky terrain, swimming, making a bonfire and cooking. Besides that you can also defeat enemies from alien planets and free others.

With a new system called "Boost Strike”, you can chain combos of powerful attacks together with your party members.

You will have a Party consisting of 6 characters. Each character will have a different combination of Artes, skills and roles.

Apart from that, party members will also have different abilities, for example Rinwell with his ability to charge and store spells.

Any character can do Boost Attack which can be used after taking damage. Boost Attack often serves as the key to winning against specific opponents for example breaking their defenses with brawler or slowing their movement.

By using a free camera style, making special moves or Artes becomes easier to direct when in battle.

Ufotable provides a beautiful touch of animation which is inserted at the main points of the story and adds more color to the adventures of our two protagonists, Alphen and Shionne.
