Gintama Anime Watch Order
Set in the Edo period during the alien invasion called Amanto, this anime follows Gintoki Sakata, Shipanci Shimura and Kagura in their work. freelancer them as Yorozuya.
Even though this anime is thick with comedic elements, you will also be amazed when the characters show their serious side, especially in the various fighting episodes.

The first season tells the story of the meeting of the three main protagonists in Gintama, namely Sakata Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi, and Kagura.

Movie 1 Shinyaku Benizakura-hen

Tells the story of the Benizakura Arc when Gintoki investigates the disappearance of a legendary sword called Benizakura.
On the other hand, Shinpaci and Kagura are also investigating the disappearance of one of Gintoki's friends, Kotaro Katsura.
This first movie is a re-adaptation of the Benizakura Arc in the first season but the animation quality is better than the previous version.
Gintama' and Gintama' Enchosen (Episode 253 – 265)

Bringing more serious episodes, this season comes with a cool Arc that features more fighting action.
One of the popular arcs this season is the Kabukicho Four Devas Arc which tells the story of a conflict in Kabukicho involving four city rulers.
The four pillars of the city are Mademoiselle Saigo, Doromizu Jirochou the Knight, Kada the Peacock Princess, and Empress Otose.
Movie 2 Be Forever Yorozuya

Be Forever Yorozuya tells the story of Gintoki who is stranded in the future, five years from now when a deadly virus outbreak has spread.
While confused, he was forced to investigate the origin of the virus and his mysterious disappearance during that period.
There are many surprises from the other characters in this film. One of them is the design of the other Yorozuya members, who look cooler and more mature.
Gintama° (Episodes 266 – 316)

For you Gintoki fans in serious mode, you shouldn't miss the arcs in this season.
After entertaining with lots of silliness in the previous movie and season, this season comes with a darker tone of story.
Some popular Arcs and canon in this season are Shogun Assasination, Farewell Shinsengumi, and Shinigami.
Gintama° : Love Potion Arc (OVA – 2 Episodes)

Taking a break from the serious Arc, this OVA tells the story of Yoshiwara who is suddenly possessed by “Aizen Kou”, a potion that can make anyone fall in love with the first person they see.
One of the people affected by this potion was Tsukuyo, the notoriously cold captain of the Hyakka. She fell in love with Gintoki Sakata upon first sight.
Unknown to everyone, Tsukuyo actually has hidden feelings for Gintoki which are getting more and more out of control because of this potion.
While holding back the conflict within herself, Tsukuyo along with the members of the Yorozuya struggle to change everything back to normal.
Gintama. and Gintama: Porori-Hen (317 – 341)

Moving on to the next season, the Rakuyo Decisive Battle Arc brings the story of Utsuro and Tendoshuu's relationship which has the potential to gather the Four Heavenly Kings and their threat to the universe.
After the Shinsengumi left Edo, the Yoruzuya and Jouishishi joined at Imai Nobume's request to work with the Kiheitai and Kaientai to rescue Kamui and Takasugi.
Things get more complicated after Utsuro also starts keeping an eye on Umibouzu who is also chasing Kamui.
When the Rakuyo Decisive Battle Arc is over, you'll be taken back to a break with some silly episodes of Gintama: Porori-Hen.
Gintama: Silver Soul Arc (Episodes 342 – 367)

This season focuses on the Yorozuya's struggle to work with old allies and former enemies to defeat Utsuro and thwart his plans to destroy the world.
Picking up the story of the final conflict with Utsuro, Gintama: Silver Soul Arc is the epic conclusion to the anime series.
Gintama: The Semi Final (OVA – 2 episodes)

This OVA gives a glimpse of the war that has subsided where Edo is being rebuilt.
Gintoki has returned to the city, the clash between Yorozuya and Tenshouin Naraku, as well as the story of Kondou and Princess Bubbles' wedding there are many unique plots in this two-episode ova.
Movie 3 Gintama: The Final

As the conclusion of the entire Gintama story, this movie comes by adapting manga episodes 699 – 704.
