MLBB MSC 2025 EWC Group Stage Recap Day 1 Summary
Now, let's get straight to the main discussion: the first day of the MLBB MSC 2025 EWC Group Stage. As with previous matches, the group stage will be a Best of 3 (Bo3) format.
Carrying the upper and lower system brackets, the first day is filled with quarter-final matches from Group A. So, those who win will advance to the upper bracket semifinals.
Meanwhile, the losers will still have a "last life" by moving down to the lower bracket. The winning team will face the loser in the upper semifinals.
Team Liquid PH vs. UltraLegend
The first match pitted TL PH, the reigning MPL Philippines champions, against the MPL MENA champions, ULL. Many predicted this match would be a one-sided affair.
And that's the reality. FYI, TL PH is the "evolution" of ECHO, the reigning M4 champion. It's no surprise that they were able to put pressure on the "smurf" league teams from the Middle East.
In the #1 game, TL PH won with a final score of 18-7. And in the #2 game, TL PH's score was even more impressive: 27-9. As a result, ULL was "swept clean" 2-0 without reply.
ONIC Esport ID vs. CFU Gaming

In the third match, the Wild Card champions from the MCC (Russian Plains) league, VP, faced the reigning M6 champions, SRG. Excitingly, this match also lasted three games.
There were no surprises in game #1, as SRG defeated VP 28-18. However, VP proved they were no pushovers: they won game #2 (20-4).
Unfortunately, they were up against former world champions. SRG managed to close out the match and advance to the group stage semifinals, winning #3 with a final score of 10-19.
Mythic SEALs vs. Sports Club Corinthians Paulista
And finally, there's the match between the MPL Myanmar representatives, SEAL, and the MPL Latam (Latin America) delegation, SCCP. This is the first time both teams have played at the MSC.
As "debutants," it's no surprise that both teams are still trying to "play it safe." In game #1, SCCP managed to pull off a comeback with a score that wasn't far off: just 7-10.
The SEALs secured their long-awaited victory in game #2, winning 8-15. The match concluded with a SEAL victory in game #3, winning 6-12.
