Resident Evil Village on iPhone

Resident Evil: Village, survival games horror made by Capcom which was released in 2021, will be coming soon on iPhones and iPads. The game will be available on October 30, 2023, just before Halloween.

Resident Evil: Village will be available for iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, as well as M1 or M2 powered iPads.

Games it will run at 30fps and will support touchscreen controls, multi-touch, HDR, and game controller support.

Features of Resident Evil: Village on iPhone

There are several Resident Evil: Village features that will be available on iPhone and iPad:

  • Console-quality graphics: The game will feature the same visuals as the console version, including ray tracing and realistic lighting effects.
  • Touch screen controls: Players can use the touch screen to control Ethan Winters.
  • Game controller support: Players can also use game controllers to play.
  • HDR Support: The game will support HDR to display brighter, color-rich visuals.

DisplayPort support is built into the USB-C port on all iPhone 15 models, meaning the device can also output up to 4K/60Hz video natively to a DisplayPort-equipped external display or TV with a supported USB-C to DisplayPort cable.

On previous iPhones with a Lightning port, video mirroring was limited to 1080p with Apple's Lightning-to-HDMI or Lightning-to-VGA adapter.

For those who haven't caught up on these games, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil: Village were showcased during Apple's ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ announcement. ‌

The ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max are powered by the A17 Pro chip featuring a new GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, allowing ported console games to be played on the iPhone with nearly equivalent performance.

As reported on the Apple page, the Resident Evil Village game will be available for free on the App Store. Of course, this is good news for iOS users.

Apple apparently is not only targeting professionals, but also mobile gamers and fans of the game Resident Evil: Village.

The game was featured on the iPhone 15 Pro last week and it seems to work well and in line with what users would expect from a dedicated mobile gaming hardware like the Steam Deck.

iPhones

  • Requires iOS 17.0 or later and a device with an A17 Pro chip or later.
