Honkai Impact 3 is free-to-play action role-playing 3D mobile game developed by miHoYo. It is the third installment in the Honkai Series and a continuation of Houkai Gakuen, using many of the same characters from the previous title, with a new, separate story. The game is known for incorporating elements from various genres, from hack-and-slash, social stimulation, bullet hell, platforming, shoot 'em up, and dungeon crawling, which are available in both single player and multiplayer modes.
The game first caught the attention of many fans in Asia before spreading more widely globally: first released in China in late 2016, and reached 1 million downloads after 11 days of release in Japan, and reached 35 million downloads globally in 12 April, 2018. HOW TO PLAY
The main gameplay of Honkai Impact 3 is controlling a team of 3 characters, called “Valkyries”, to fight various enemies. During battle, players can freely move their character on the battlefield and switch between three Valkyries that are deployed directly to suit the different types of enemies they encounter. Each Valkyrie has unique attack, evade, switch, and ultimate skills, and each Valkyrie has a different type that functions like rock-paper-scissors to complete needed roles in the team. Valkyrie status and skills can be adjusted and customized with various equipment. Stigmata equipment, weapons, and Valkyries can be obtained through combat, the merge system, or the gacha system.
The game's single-player mode adapts to this gameplay core, including the "Story" mode, which consists of stages interspersed with story dialogue and FMV, the "Open World" mode, which is a vast world that can be explored to collect materials, complete various tasks. In this game there are also various cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes that adapt this playing style, such as in the "Co-op Raid" mode, where players work together in a team to get legendary weapons, the "Memorial Arena" mode, where players can compete for scores when facing bosses, and the “Dirac Sea” mode, where players can compete for scores while trying to dive as far as possible and through a series of battles.
Outside of combat, Honkai Impact 3 also features interactions with Valkyries or Stigmata characters in the "Dormitory". Players can create various furniture and design the layout of the rooms in the Dorm to increase the comfort level of the Valkyrie and Stigmata in it.
