As a disclaimer first, we will only present the core games of this franchise, totaling 10 titles.

Because if you include all existing games, there are more or less 90 game titles spread across various platforms! Here is the Resident Evil sequence:

Resident Evil 0 (2002)

Judging from the storyline, the opening game is Resident Evil 0. As the name implies, this game invites you to dive into various things before the first Resident Evil.

The main plot will revolve around the events before the events at the Spencer Estate Mansion. Players will control Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen on an adventure involving the Umbrella Corporation and dangerous biological experiments.

Resident Evil (1996)

Taking place in the mysterious Spencer Estate Mansion, this game features a gripping atmosphere and challenging puzzles.

Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield as the main characters will unravel the mystery behind the T virus outbreak and survive the horror that lurk.

Resident Evil 2 (1998)

After playing RE 1, of course the next one is Resident Evil 2 (RE 2). Similar to RE-1, this game with such a massive reception got its remake version back in 2019 for the previous and next gen consoles.

This game takes place several months after the events of the previous game and introduces two new characters: “The Legend” Leon S. Kennedy, and Claire Redfield (Chris' sister from RE 1). The setting is wider, namely Raccoon City, which was hit by a zombie outbreak.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999)

You could say that RE 2 and 3 have an ambiguous storyline because the two complement each other.

If Vicigers want to really get into the plot, the order of play is to play half of RE 3 first then stop, switch to finish RE 2, then play the rest of RE 3 again.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica (2000)

This game takes place after the events of RE 3: it takes players to a mysterious island in Antarctica.

Even though Capcom prefers to release the remastered version instead of making a remake, this game still offers challenging puzzles and a thrilling horror experience.

Resident Evil 4 (2005)

Who doesn't know Resident Evil 4? This RE lineup deserves to be called a masterpiece from the franchise itself.

First released in 2005, this game is also getting its remake version in 2023 – something the maestro deserves.

Resident Evil: Revelations (2012)

Taking place after RE 4, players will be invited to follow Jill and Chris' journey in responding to the effects of biological weapons developed by Umbrella. Of course this duo will bring us a throwback to the days of RE 1.

Resident Evil 5 (2009)

Resident Evil 5 continues Leon's adventures, this time with a new partner, Sheva Alomar. The setting carried by RE 5 is fairly new, seeing as this game will take players to Africa.

The plot will revolve around the duo's efforts to deal with the threat of bioterrorism that threatens the world. RE 5 offers an engaging and action-focused cooperative play experience.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (2015)

Eits, we haven't gone straight to RE 6, before we will enter Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Here players will follow Claire's adventures upon her return from the last time she appeared on RE: CV in the main lineup.

This game also offers a unique gameplay: the storyline is divided into stages. Of course this is very different from the lineup that has been.

Resident Evil 6 (2012)

Well, then we enter Resident Evil 6. There are several main characters who are involved in the threat of bioterrorism that is spreading throughout the world. Old faces like Leon and Chris also made their appearance again.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017)

Reflecting on the "failure" they experienced in the RE 5 and 6 sequels, Capcom finally began to consider the voices of RE fans and released the seventh installation titled Biohazard.

The character that appears is completely new, named Ethan Winters, who is adventuring in the suburbs of America. Here also RE appears with a new gameplay that carries a first person perspective (first person – FPS).

Resident Evil 8: VII.I.AGE (2021)

Predicted to be the best RE game to date, RE 8: VII.I.AGE (pronounced VILLAGE) is still continuing the story of the previous installation.

The character Ethan is still the main protagonist in this installation. This game is so iconic that its main antagonist, “The Lady” Alcina Dimitrescu, has become one of today's pop-culture icons!
