Maybe you will be surprised if you hear about the prizes awarded for tournaments games this.

The reason is, since the first event alone the prize was 10 million dollars and this is a very large amount for an esports competition.

Unfortunately, this year there has been a lot of criticism from pro players. Because the prizes are still very small compared to several previous tournaments.

Reporting from the liquipedia page, the 2023 TI prize is only around $2,914,922 USD (Rp. 45,850,994,329.50 or Rp. 45 billion) and this is far from the expectations of pro players.

In fact, The International's prize pool has been obtained from Compendium/Battle Pass sales since Valve first introduced this structure in 2013.

With the help of the community, the amount of money offered in TI increased every year between 2013 and 2021.

The launch of the TI12 Compendium has not been well received by most of the Dota 2 community or players.

In addition to the lack of skin items, some traditional Battle Pass features are also missing this year. Therefore, this year's prize pool growth is the slowest in recent years.

Valve has also confirmed that all Compendium sales will be available until November 17, 2023, with 25 percent of the proceeds going to the TI 12 prize pool.
