GDC Awards 2024: Complete Winners List, Must Know!

GDC Awards 2024 is an annual event organized by Game Developers Conference world to crown the best games of that year.

Every year, the GDC Awards or Game Developers Awards will feature 12 categories that discuss all aspects of a game, such as sound, graphics, and the technology used.

What is the GDC Awards

As the author explained briefly above, the GDC Awards or Game Developers Conference Awards is an award presented by the GDC itself.

Initially, the Game Developers Conference Awards were called The Spoilight Awards. However, this title did not last long. Its use only lasted from 1997 to 1999.

There are 10 categories being contested at this year's event, including Best Audio, Best Debut, Innovation Award, Best Design, Best Narrative, Social Impact Award, Best Technology, Best Visual Art, Game of the Year, and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

How to Select Finalists

The finalist nominations in these categories have been selected in advance by ICAN, or what is usually known as the International Choice Awards Network, an association of leading game creators.

Apart from ICAN, game developers who have voting rights will vote based on existing categories.

After that, the list will be competed at the GDC Awards.
