Exclusive Distribution of the Godzilla -1.0 Film, Can Be Watched Starting May 3

Amazon Prime Video will start offering exclusive distribution of the film Godzilla – 1.0 for you to watch starting May 3, 2024.

This film is a film produced to commemorate Godzilla's 70th birthday. 

The film successfully grossed 7.3 billion yen at the box office with an audience of 4.89 million and won the Best Visual Effects Award at the 96th Academy Awards.

In addition, exclusive distribution of the black-and-white version of the Shin Godzilla film, Shin Godzilla: Ortho, and 30 other live-action Godzilla films will also begin on the same day.

Prime Video will offer Godzilla-1.0 as an all-you-can-watch exclusive starting May 3 (Friday, May 3). 

Godzilla-1.0 itself is the latest film to qualify for Amazon Prime benefits.

Godzilla-1.0 Movie

Godzilla-1.0 was produced to commemorate Godzilla's 70th anniversary. Godzilla films have amazed and shocked, not only in Japan, but throughout the world, since his first appearance in 1954.

This film depicts Godzilla trying desperately to survive against Godzilla, and the people who oppose Godzilla.

This film recorded box-office revenues of 7.3 billion yen and an audience of 4.89 million people as of April 14, 2024. 

Directed, written, and VFX by Takashi Yamazaki, the film became the first Japanese film to win the Visual Effects Award at the 96th Academy Awards, a historic achievement.

Distribution of Godzilla-1.0

Along with the exclusive distribution of Godzilla – 1.0, Amazon Prime Video will also exclusively distribute Shin Godzilla: Ortho, a black-and-white version of the hit film Shin Godzilla, written and directed by Hideaki Anno and co-directed and supervised by Shinji Higuchi.

Additionally, all 30 live-action Japanese Godzilla films, including the first Godzilla film released theatrically in 1954 and the second Godzilla Strikes Back, will be available for unlimited viewing.
