What is ANS?

PT. Anas Nasional Sejahtera (ANS) is a legendary bus company from Indonesia and was once one of the largest bus POs on the island of Sumatra. It was founded in Padang, West Sumatra in 1964 by Anas Sutan Jamaris.

There are several companies operating under PT. Anas Nasional Sejahtera, where PT. Anas Nasional Sejahtera serves intercity and regional (AKAP) buses and PT. Wellian Nusantara Transport (Nyaman Holdiay) serves tourist buses.

The founder of PO ANS, Anas Sutan Jamaris, is a businessman from Balingka, Agam Regency, West Sumatra.

He was born into a simple family and since childhood he has been a door-to-door street vendor to help his family's finances.

From this small business, he tried a new business, namely selling cigarettes and this was the beginning of his success in the business world.

His success in the cigarette business enabled him to purchase a truck to distribute his merchandise to various regions. From there, he began to understand land transportation.

His freight transport business grew rapidly so he continued to increase the number of his fleet and eventually entered the passenger transport business.

His first steps in the passenger transport business began in 1964 when he opened an Intercity Within Province (AKDP) bus service with the Padang – Bukittinggi route.

During the 8 years of running the route, he gained a lot of experience in managing passenger transportation.

Until finally in 1972 he opened a major expansion by establishing PO ANS which is an abbreviation of his slogan "Safe, Comfortable and Arrives at Destination".

This company developed into PT. Anas Nasional Sejahtera, which since then has started adding Intercity Interprovincial (AKAP) services with routes Sumatra, Java and even Bali.

As time goes by, ANS continues to improve its services by providing various service classes such as economy class to executive class and Royal Executive with modern facilities such as air conditioning, comfortable seats, entertainment and toilets.

ANS presents a new bus with a combination of a premium chassis and a modern body. ANS uses only one manufacturer, namely Mercedes-Benz, relying on a Mercedes-Benz OH 1626 chassis and a 6-cylinder diesel engine that can produce around 260 hp and high torque for long journeys.

ANS also relies on Morodadi Prima for its body, which makes its buses sturdy, with a European-style design with an elegant and futuristic appearance.

In addition, it also presents upgrades to the interior such as the dashboard, toilet with circulation system and smoking area at the very back.

The seats also have a 2 + 2 configuration with leg rests and are even equipped with a cabin partition that separates the crew and passenger areas.

Nyaman Holiday, using Adi Putro Jetbus5 model and Laksana Legacy SR-3 model for large buses and small buses with an aerodynamic appearance, spacious cabin plus complete entertainment facilities such as TV, dispenser and toilet.

Meanwhile, the chassis uses Hino and Isuzu chassis which are efficient, easy to maintain and suitable for tourism.

This innovation makes ANS one of the bus companies that can compete with other bus companies while maintaining its reputation as a well-known bus company in West Sumatra.
