Sanemi Shinazugawa is the Wind Hashira or Wind Pillar in the Demon Slayer Corps, first introduced in chapter 45 of the manga and episode 22 of the anime. He is depicted as a man covered in scars from his numerous battles.

Killing His Own Mother to Protect His Gene

The greatest tragedy in Sanemi's life occurred when his mother transformed into a demon after being attacked by the creature, killing five of her seven children. Sanemi, who was still very young at the time, immediately took action and killed his own mother to save her. Gene (his younger brother).
