Distinguished Master Guardian (DMG) & Legendary Eagle (LE)

Distinguished Master Guardian (DMG) and Legendary Eagle (LE) are the steps towards elite rank. Players at this level generally possess high shooting accuracy, understand various map strategies, and are able to adapt quickly to their opponents' gameplay.

Competition at this rank is much fiercer than at previous levels. Almost all players have mastered basic techniques, so victory is often determined by team coordination, decision-making, and the ability to maintain consistent performance throughout each match.

Supreme Master First Class

Supreme Master First Class is one of the highest ranks in CSGO. Only players with above-average skills can reach this level, as it requires consistent performance over a long period of time.

Supreme players typically possess excellent aim, a solid mastery of utility, and a high-level understanding of strategy. They are also able to adapt to various opponent playstyles and rarely make fundamental mistakes during a match.

GlobalElite

Global Elite is the highest rank in the classic CSGO ranking system. Players who reach this level are considered among the best, demonstrating exceptional mechanical, strategic, communication, and consistent gameplay.

While it's a dream for many players, maintaining Global Elite status isn't easy. Players must maintain their performance, play consistently, and be able to face opponents of equal or even greater skill to avoid a rank drop.

ELO/MMR system

CSGO uses a hidden Matchmaking Rating (MMR) system, often called the ELO system. This value isn't displayed to players, but it determines their rank. Winning increases your MMR, while losing decreases it.

The magnitude of MMR changes is influenced not only by match results, but also by the quality of the opponents faced and long-term performance consistency. Therefore, a winning streak usually provides a greater chance of ranking up.

Unranked

New players and old players who have not played for a long time will usually have the status Unranked. In this situation, the system does not yet have enough data to accurately determine the player's abilities.

To achieve first rank, you must win 10 competitive matches. After that, the system will place you in the rank it deems most appropriate based on your performance during the placement process.

Updates in CS2

Since the introduction of Counter-Strike 2, the ranking system has undergone several changes. One of the biggest changes is the competitive ranking, which can now be different for each map.
