Update MLBB Patch 2.1.61 April 2026

On April 22nd, MLBB patch 2.1.61 officially went live on the Original Server. As a mid-season update, it includes quite a few new features.

From hero revamps, buffs, and nerfs to changes to several emblems and items, for those curious about the full details, let's check it out!

Meta Changes and Event Preparation

Although its presence is quite odd because it comes in the middle of the season, the fact is that Moonton has boldly made meta changes that could be felt significantly.

Regardless of whether it's simply to keep up with Land of Dawn's current performance, or as a form of preparation for the upcoming event – what's certain is that a lot has changed.

This is evident in the presence of several new modes and preparations for the kick-off of the ALLSTAR Event coming at the end of this month: rumors are that it will take on a deep sea theme.

However, in this article, VCGamers will only focus on discussing various aspects of the update that directly affect the core gameplay (micro and macro) only.

Aulus Revamp

The first update comes from Aulus, the Moniyan fighter (the same race as Harith, Nana, and Joy), who received a revamp. Yep, this hero is finally out of the cave!

The revamp isn't just a minor overhaul—it's truly comprehensive! From the appearance and skills to the more meta-friendly mechanics. It's understandable that she's overpowered (OP) and has ban-and-pick priority!

However, unlike previous hero revamps, Moonton has designed Aulus' lore in a very neat and unique way! You definitely need to watch the trailer.

Hero Rework

In addition to Aulus receiving a revamp, several other heroes are also receiving reworks in this patch. Some of them will receive quite helpful changes:

Dyrroth

The "Prince of the Abyss" has had a very low pick rate in recent seasons. It's no surprise that Moonton finally gave him a rework to push him into the meta.

The part that's getting a rework is her passive energy (the two red bars below her health), which can now recharge automatically. This strengthens her skill so she can spam it more often.

Not only that, all of her skills and passive regen also received insane buffs! Moonton is really pushing this hero to truly "graze" in the EXP lane again.

Marcel

This hero, who hasn't even been around for a season on the Original Server, has already received a rework. Indeed, due to its somewhat imbalanced mechanics, this hero has become less popular.

If previously his ultimate would affect all hero units (both his own team and the enemy), then through this rework, Marcel can finally make his freeze effect exclusive to enemies only.

This is done by activating her passive (granting a shield) to frozen allies. If successful, they can instantly recover. So, use her passive wisely!

Hmm, if it's not fixed yet, Moonton should just postpone the release and stick it to the Advance Server. That way, the hero mechanics can be more optimized and become meta.

Terizla

This fighter/tank hero has been rarely seen in the Land of Dawn since his last nerf in early season 30. So, Moonton slightly changed his mechanics to allow him to exit caves.

In this patch, Terizla no longer uses Mana! This means he only relies on skill cooldowns (CD). Hmm, all tanks should be Mana-free, right?

Hero Buffs and Nerfs

This time, Moonton appears to be eager to emphasize the marksman (MM) role, which has been lacking in recent seasons. Therefore, almost all MMs have received adjustments:

Melissa (adjustment)

The most significant change is her ultimate, which now also grants a shield when activated. This allows Melissa to be more sustainable, especially during burst attacks.

Brody (adjustment)

There's a slight change to the passive scheme: the damage increase of the next attack on a target that has already been hit is now changed to a stack-based damage increase.

Beatrix (adjustment)

Changes are visible in the MM's lifesteal and spell vamp capacity on all weapon types. Originally, both attributes were 50%. Now, they've doubled!

  • Wanwan, Irithel, Ixia, Miya, Layla, Hanabi, Bruno, Clint, Obsidia, Moskov, Karrie, Claude, Natan, Lesley, and Popol & Kupa (adjustment)

To keep up with the latest meta, various heroes have received adjustments. This generally impacts basic attributes like HP reduction and growth, as well as physical defense buffs.

However, the aspect that was definitely nerfed was the mana consumption of various skills, which became significantly more wasteful. It seems MM is being forced to rely more on basic attacks.

Moonton isn't just making adjustments to the MM lineup mentioned above; it's also making adjustments to several other heroes. The hero pool for this season's meta should be even more varied:

Harith (buff)

This Moniyan mage has received significant enhancements, starting with adjustments to his basic attributes, particularly his health and physical defense (including growth in both).

Additionally, all of his skills have received significant improvements, including additional damage to buffs/creeps! So, Harith core users should be in high demand again.

cheers

In this patch, the hero who will become pirate king “Monkey D. Luffy's "vessel" is truly dominant. But because it's too OP, Moonton nerfed it.

The most drastic reduction is the reduction in base and additional damage. Furthermore, the CD of her Thunder (assassin) ultimate mode has also been increased, making it considerably longer.

However, these changes don't have a significant impact during gameplay. So, make sure to keep Sora a priority, especially when banning and picking in ranked mode.

Finally, this "yoyo" hero also received a slight increase in the damage of her skill 1. Furthermore, several damage bugs (Moonton's version) have also reportedly been removed.

Buff and Nerf Items

Then, there are several items that Moonton has also adjusted in response to the various hero changes mentioned above. Their function, of course, is to strengthen and counter their performance:

Starlium Scythe

The "blue scythe" item has undergone a significant overhaul. The first part of its build path, which originally required a Mystic Container, has now been replaced by a Book of Sages.

Furthermore, her passive, Crisis, received a significant CD reduction. However, Moonton compensated by reducing its damage and slowing effects.

From this, it's clear that this change was specifically designed for Harith. This allows him to spam skills and basic attacks more frequently, which are enhanced by this item.

Dominance (Domi) Ice

To counter this, Moonton has also strengthened Domi. His second passive has a wider range, allowing users to continue reducing Harith's agile shield.

Marksman Emblem Adjustment

Finally, to balance the MM meta, Moonton also slightly buffed the Marksman Emblem. Adaptive penetration, which was originally 5%, is now 10%.
