MPL ID Season 16 will soon return. This is marked by the completion of MPL ID Season 15 and MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2025 a few weeks ago.

This month, MPL ID Season 16 will be held again from August 22 to November 2025 at the XO Hall or MPL Arena, precisely in Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta.

Of course, there will be 9 Indonesian MLBB teams that will battle in a double round robin on the MPL stage and try to advance to the Playoff round.

The team that wins MPL ID Season 16 will then be the representative to compete in the M7 World Championship competition.

For example, in the MPL ID Season 15 yesterday, the champion was ONIC Esports and the runner-up was RRQ Hoshi.

These two teams competed in the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, ONIC ID emerged as fourth place winners, while RRQ Hoshi finished seventh.

MPL ID Season 16

Mobile Legends Professional League Indonesia, known as MPL Indonesia or MPL ID, is a professional league MLBB in Indonesia.

The MPL Indonesia tournament will soon enter its 16th season, which will feature matches from 9 Indonesian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Esports teams.

MPL ID Season 16 will be held on August 22, 2025 to November 2025. The location of MPL ID Season 16 is at XO Hall or MPL Arena, Jalan Tanjung Duren Barat III No.1, RT.9/RW.5, Tanjung Duren Utara, Grogol Petamburan District, West Jakarta City, Special Capital Region of Jakarta 11470.

The Regular Season will begin on Friday, August 22, 2025, and run until Sunday, October 19, 2025. The Playoffs will be held in November.

The competition will be held offline with a total of 9 teams that will duel each other such as ONIC, RRQ Hoshi, EVOS, Alter Ego, Bigetron by Vitality, Natus Vincere (NAVI), Dewa United Esports, Geek Fam ID, to Team Liquid ID.

In MPL ID Season 16, this is a way for Indonesian teams to advance to the M7 World Championship which is reportedly going to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

MPL ID Season 16 Format and Schedule

Below is the format and schedule of MPL ID Season 16 which will be held on August 22, 2025, namely as follows:

Format

The format is very exciting, where each team will play in a double round robin or meet twice with each match using the Bo3 or Best of 3 system.

Each win earns one point, while a loss earns no points. The six teams with the highest points will advance to the playoffs, which will be played in a hybrid elimination format.

• Regular Season: August 22 – October 19, 2025
  • Double Round Robin
  • All matches are Best of 3 (Bo3) format
    • Get 1 point for every win
    • Get 0 points for every loss
  • The top 6 teams will advance to the playoffs.
• Playoffs: November 2025
  • Hybrid Elimination
  • The 3rd to 6th seeded teams will compete in Round 1 (Single Elimination)
    The 1st and 2nd seeded teams will receive a bye and will start the match in Round 2 (Double Elimination)
  • All matches (except Lower Bracket Final & Grand Final) are Best of 5 (Bo5) format.
  • The Lower Bracket Final & Grand Final are in Bo7 format
  • The top 2 teams qualify for the M7 World Championship

Transfer Roster

Ahead of MPL ID Season 16, several teams are overhauling their rosters, releasing players and transferring them to other teams. For example, ONIC and RRQ Hoshi.

Where, ONIC released three of its mainstay players, namely CW as Gold Laner, Nnael as Jungler and Ryota as EXP Laner. The three were announced simultaneously via ONIC Esports' official Instagram and X accounts on August 7, 2025.

As for CW, rumors suggest he'll be promoted to an Analyst alongside Coach Adi. Meanwhile, Nnael has joined the BTR by Vitality team, and Ryota hasn't yet joined a new team.

The news of Nnael being transferred to BTR by Vitality was officially announced via the Instagram account @bigetronesports And @mpl.id.official on August 9, 2025.

Moving on to RRQ Hoshi, the team also released its mainstay Gold Laner, Skylar. On August 6, 2025, RRQ Hoshi officially released Skylar, as announced via their official Instagram account @teamrrq.

The rumor that is currently being widely discussed regarding Skylar recently is that he will replace CW for the Gold Laner position in ONIC.

Well, luckily this rumor is true and has been officially announced by both teams, especially ONIC regarding Skylar's transfer to the Raja Langit team.

Where, this information was officially announced via the Instagram account @onic.esports on August 8, 2025 and @mpl.id.official on August 9, 2025.

Of course, this has pros and cons for some fans, both Kingdom (RRQ Hoshi fans) and SONIC (ONIC fans), where it is very regrettable for RRQ to release Skylar, but this is also an advantage for ONIC because he is a veteran player with a lot of experience.

But, on the other hand, Skylar also has his own reasons for leaving RRQ because he still wants to continue developing and competing, especially in other teams.
