Top market segment CS2 It's a small, unique place. A small number of rifles and sniper rifles sell for the same price as used cars, and almost none of them can be obtained anymore just by playing the game.

Adding lotus flowers and green leaves to the AK-47 was an odd decision for a tactical shooter, and it's now the most expensive AK variant out of 59 available. Wild Lotus never appeared in a weapon box. It was only available through the Operation Shattered Web reward system, and when the operation ended in early 2020, its supply ceased forever.

This CS2 skin's value range spans the entire 0.00 to 1.00 range, allowing it to be found in all states of wear. What sets it apart from most Covert weapons is its wear. Wild Lotus uses a custom paint job, which, according to Valve's own workshop documentation will wear down to the base layer. Scratches begin to appear on the magazine even when the gun is still factory new and spread as the value increases, while the entire gun darkens as the process progresses.

This obviously impacts pricing. “Battle-Scarred” copies are the cheapest category, fetching about a quarter of the asking price for “Factory New” condition, concentrating money in a segment with limited supply. Skinscanner currently displays 14 “Factory New” condition listings across its monitored markets, which pretty much sums up the liquidity here. This isn’t something you can sell overnight.

AWP | Gungnir

Gungnir was released in the same operation as Wild Lotus, on the same day, but is from a different collection. Valve's in-game description reads: “Odin's spear crosses AWP specially painted in this pearl blue and ivory.” The spear is painted, not carved, and runs the length of the pale blue weapon's body interspersed with ivory Norse knot motifs.

The upper limit of the CS2 skin's float value range is 0.60, not 1.00, allowing for all five wear conditions, as the Battle-Scarred value starts at 0.45. Scratches become more visible on the body as the float value increases, skewing demand heavily toward pristine condition.

Supply is limited and generally estimated to be in the thousands of units, although Valve has never released an exact figure; therefore, you should consider any specific figures you see as estimates, not facts. The “Factory New” market currently has 16 listings on Skinscanner, with prices ranging from €9,925 to €15,431.

One thing to note for anyone shopping in this price range: Gungnir Factory New (FN) with float values below 0.01 are trading well above the typical FN price, in some cases even several times that. The numbers listed in the title refer to standard FN units, not high-end ones.

AWP | Dragon Lore

€9,421 Factory New. The Cobblestone Collection, Operation Breakout, 1 July 2014.

The most famous skin in Counter-Strike, and the only one on this list to have had a real cultural impact outside of the game. Valve's description is so simple it's almost humorous: "This skin is custom-painted with a *knotwork* style dragon motif." However, the descriptive text (*flavor text*) adds more depth: "200 keys will never unlock its secrets."“

Dragon Lore was never obtained from cases. The regular version was obtained as a map drop while playing on Cobblestone during Operation Breakout, Bloodhound, Wildfire, and Hydra. The Souvenir version came from souvenir packs at Major tournaments played on Cobblestone; this source ended at the ELEAGUE Major Boston in January 2018. Cobblestone was then removed from the Active Duty map pool a few months later, in April 2018, and completely dropped from competitive matchmaking in 2019.

Update May 2026 introduced Souvenir-O-Matic, which allows regular skins to be converted into Souvenir versions. This changed the market by making the supply of Souvenir skins more flexible, as existing regular skins could now be converted into new Souvenir variants. As a result, the availability of Dragon Lore Souvenirs was no longer limited to the previous stock levels.

The regular version of Dragon Lore can still be obtained through the *trade-up* (exchange) of the Cobblestone collection. Ten *Classified* Cobblestone skins—specifically the M4A1-S | Knight—can be exchanged for the only *Covert* skin in the collection, the AWP | Dragon Lore. Economically, this move is very disadvantageous because the price of ten Knight skins far exceeds the price of one *Factory New* Dragon Lore, but the mechanism is still available.

The update also allows Souvenir skins to be used as trade-up materials, while also removing their Souvenir attributes in the process. This means that the Souvenir version of the Cobblestone skin can now also be used in the trade-up process to obtain Dragon Lore.

At the same time, the ability to create new CS2 Souvenir skins makes highly sought-after signatures of specific players even more important. Signatures from legendary players or from particularly iconic matches can add a significant premium to an otherwise identical Souvenir Dragon Lore skin, creating a new layer of rarity and value in the market.

M4A4 | Howl

The only skin with *Contraband* status in Counter-Strike history, and the only item on this list whose value comes from legal disputes, not from the chance of obtaining (*drop rate*).

The wolf image was originally a piece of artwork titled “Aggression” by Finnish artist CanisAlbus, submitted to the Steam Workshop by two users who were not the rightful owners of the work. Both were permanently banned from the Workshop and stripped of their earnings. In June 2014, Valve replaced the skin image on every existing copy with their own in-house artwork, removed it from the Huntsman case, and assigned it the Contraband status—a tier never granted to any other item. The “Howl” skin you see in-game today is Valve’s alternate version, not the original.

This CS2 skin's float value is capped at 0.40; this means there is no Battle-Scarred condition variant, and the Well-Worn condition only covers a narrow range of 0.38 to 0.40. It is available in only four conditions, has an absolute supply limit, and there is no way to reproduce this item.

A StatTrak variant of Howl is also available and is priced significantly higher than the standard *Factory New* version. The lower condition (higher wear) StatTrak variant is actually much easier to obtain than most guides suggest; so if you want the StatTrak counters without the premium *Factory New* price, this is a great option.

AWP | Medusa

The AWP Gorgon is a less flashy weapon on this list. Valve's description reads: "This weapon has been custom-painted with the image of a gorgon." Its flavor text is some of the best in the game: "If you can see me, you're dead."“

The Medusa was only available to Operation Bloodhound Access Pass holders between May and October 2015. It never appeared in a case, and it does not have a StatTrak or Souvenir version. If you find a site listing the price for the Souvenir version of the Medusa, it does not actually exist; some price aggregator sites do display a pseudo-entry for that version.

Its float value ranges across the spectrum from 0.00 to 1.00, and its wear pattern is quite unique. Instead of peeling away to reveal the base metal, a high float Medusa develops a green patina over its main image—a look the community has dubbed “Green Witch.” This is one of the few cases where a heavily worn version has a dedicated following, rather than simply being considered a cheap option.

The market for *Factory New* condition is relatively limited, with only 15 offers ranging from €3,628 to €4,560.

There are three skins that are worth mentioning, and two of them exhibit a price quirk that is often misunderstood by most players.

AK-47 | Hydroponic, The Rising Sun Collection, Operation Bloodhound 2015. *Factory New* condition starting at €3,308. Featuring a bamboo motif with metallic paint, it is *Classified* (not *Covert*), and is an Access Pass drop that was never obtained through case opening. The pattern index affects the position of the bamboo branches, creating a unique collector's market for CS2 skins.

Note the *wear* condition listed for the last two skins. For both of these skins, the *Minimal Wear* condition price is higher than *Factory New*, a situation that goes against the general rule.
