MLBB MSC 2025 EWC Playoff Recap Day One Summary
Now let's get straight to the main discussion: a recap of the first day of the MLBB MSC 2025 EWC playoffs. At this point, the playoffs are in the quarterfinals (round of eight).
The most contrasting difference is of course the end of the upper and lower systems. bracketsSimply put, the “reserve life” system is no longer necessary for top teams.
However, to maintain fairness, this round no longer uses the Best of 3 (Bo3) system and switches to Bo5. Yes, the first team to win three games will advance to the next round.
And to those who lost, please keep fighting so you can have a chance to participate in MSC 2026! – or at least, to compete in M7 next year!
In this playoff round, a total of eight teams qualified from Groups A and B. Most of them are Southeast Asian teams, but there are also representatives from Russia and European delegations.
For this first day, there will be only four teams playing – all of them from Group A. So, for a more detailed summary of how today's matches will go, here are the details:
Aurora Turkey (AUR): 0 vs. Team Liquid PH (TLPH): 3
In the first match, AUR, representing the Turkish league, faced former M4 world champions TLPH. Many could already guess how this match would turn out.
As the team with the best standing at the moment, TLPH easily secured a #1 game. In less than 13 minutes, AUR's base turret collapsed, leading to a 19-2 victory!
Meanwhile, in game #2, TLPH went even crazier. In less than 11 minutes, with just one Lord, they were able to win (6-2). Oheb even got a Maniac with his Granger!
This achievement likely prompted TLPH management to play more relaxedly, extending the match duration. As a result, their game tempo slowed down in the #3 game.
But as professionals, they remained “on the right track.” Despite the exchange of kills, AUR was still a thousand years too fast to defeat TLPH: a clean sweep of the game #3 (10-14)!
Mythic SEAL (MYTH): 0 vs. ONIC Esports ID (ONIC): 3
And the closing match of the first day was Indo Pride: ONIC, facing MYTH as representatives of Myanmar. Many also believed that ONIC would be the ones to progress.
Sure enough, in the #1 game, MYTH already looked quite overwhelmed. Although offlaner They brought Lapu-Lapu (overpowered hero), ONIC was still able to win even though it was narrow (15-12).
In game #2, MYTH became even more "ideal": choosing Alice-Jungler without bringing a pure support as a roamer. Naturally, ONIC capitalized on this, winning 18-4.
Seemingly confused, MYTH returned to a “logical” draft and brought in Fredrinn as a utility jungler: hoping to dampen the movements of the ONIC roster in the #3 game.
But hopes were dashed when Lancelot ONIC's "Kumar" managed to maintain his "sat-set" despite BoYe (MYTH's Roamer) trying to suppress him with Franco. The Sky Kings won 13-19!
