MPL ID S16 Regular Season Week One Highlights
After MSC The latest season of MPL ID S16 has officially kicked off. This league will undoubtedly send the best teams to M7 in early 2026!

MPL ID S16 Week One Summary
As in previous seasons, the first week of MPL ID lasted three days, Friday through Sunday. This year's Regular Season will continue for nine weeks.
In the first week, six teams have already competed, and five of them have already been allocated two matches. For clarity, here are the details for each day:
First Day (Friday, August 22, 2025)
As usual, the first day featured two matches featuring four teams. The opening match featured six-time MPL ID champions ONIC, facing off against the youngest team, DEWA.
Having already become accustomed to the prevailing meta and maximizing it at MSC 2025, as expected, ONIC was able to easily defeat DEWA without reply.
This is in stark contrast to last Season 15, where ONIC performed very poorly at the start of the season – although they were eventually able to make a comeback and lift the MPL S15 trophy.
Meanwhile, for the second match, there was the "evolutionary" team Rebellion, which restarted its MLBB career last season, namely NAVI, against the former M1 world champion: EVOS.
EVOS appeared to be playing quite well, securing a 2-0 victory over NAVI. Could this be the answer to their playoff failure last season?
Day Two (Saturday, August 23, 2025)
On the second day, there were three matches featuring six teams. In the first match, TLID, who finished fifth last season, faced GEEK, the third-place finisher.
As fellow "mediocre" teams, their abilities were naturally only slightly different. It's no surprise that GEEK ultimately won the match 2-1 over TLID after a back-and-forth.
For their second match, ONIC returned to action. This time, they faced another mediocre team recently acquired by French esports giant Bigetron (BTR) by Vitality!
Despite receiving a "freshen-up" in the management team, BTR was clearly unable to withstand the mighty kings of the sky. As a result, ONIC secured a 2-0 victory over BTR.
Today's action concluded with a match between the MPL Season 15 runner-up, the "king of kings": RRQ, and the fourth-place finisher, AE. The result was, of course, predictable.
RRQ, who also traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to compete at MSC 2025, were already well-versed in the current meta. It was no surprise that they ultimately won 2-1 over AE.
Day Three (Sunday, August 24, 2025)
Just like the previous day, the third day featured three matches for six teams. The competition opened with a clash between two European "sponsored" teams: BTR and NAVI.
This time, NAVI gained momentum and defeated BTR 2-1. However, the highlight of the day was the second match between RRQ and GEEK.
Like they were on fire, GEEK defeated RRQ 2-0 without reply! A similar result was seen in the final match of the week, with AE taking the lead over DEWA.
MPL ID S16 Week 1 Temporary Standings
Of the eight matches above, ONIC opened the season beautifully by standing at the top of the standings, followed by GEEK who were only 1 net win away.
Meanwhile, EVOS (who have only played once without a loss) and AE are currently in third and fourth place. For a complete breakdown, see below:
