Zetian Details and Mechanics
We open our discussion by discussing Zetian's various aspects and mechanics. As we know, this is not the first time Moonton has released a hero that is full of a country's culture.
They consider this kind of promotional strategy effective in attracting players from target countries. Without us realizing, it turns out that there are many heroes who are included in this "group"!
And Zetian is also one of them. Inspired by a queen from the Bamboo Curtain Country named Wu Zetian, she is the most famous feminist monarch in ancient Chinese history.
As for the mechanics themselves, Moonton does not introduce anything new to Zetian. It combines Harley mechanics, Kagura, and of course the most obvious, Yi Sun-shin!
The only thing that seems new is her passive skill – although it still looks like Flameshot. Well, to be clear, here are VCGamers's details of the skill and its combo.
Zetian Skill
Next is a discussion about Zetian's skills. As a new hero, basically the mage does not have a difficult skill line-up to learn. Please take a look:
Passive Skill – “Celestial Armament”
- Phoenix Crown: When an enemy is hit by Zetian's skill 1 and 2, the mage gains additional spell vamp for 5 seconds. This effect can be stacked up to 10 times;
- Celestial Robe: When this passive is activated, there will be a kind of circle around Zetian's body. If an enemy hero is hit by this circle, the hero will get a knock back and stun effect along with some magic damage. This passive is single target, and disappears after hitting the first target. Right after the circle disappears, he also gets a shield that lasts for 3 seconds. The cooldown of this passive is 120 seconds.
Skill 1 – “Phoenix Strike”
Zetian casts a magic wave in a designated direction. If it hits an enemy unit (minion, creep, or hero), it will cast another wave up to a maximum of 3 times.
The third wave will knock the target back. Zetian can spam this skill while moving and casting other skills, while gaining additional movement speed.
Skill 2 – “Phoenix Descent”
Zetian releases a Phoenix Bird in the form of a circular area of effect (AoE) magic. Enemies within it will be hit by magic damage and also a slow effect.
This skill will be at that point for 3 seconds. Enemies who do not move will be hit by magic damage every 0.5 seconds while experiencing a reduction in magic defense.
During the above duration, Zetian can use this skill again to move his AoE. Enemies hit will again receive magic damage and also a slow effect.
Skill 3 – “Fury of the Phoenix”

Zetian Combo
No less important is the mage's skill combo. If you can execute it correctly, picking off enemy heroes will be very easy to do.
The key to her skill combo is her hand speed in spamming. This is because all of Zetian's skills can be spammed simultaneously and while moving (without channeling).
First of all, try to hit the target hero with Skill 2. While affected by the slow effect and reduced magic defense, increase the damage gain with Skill 1.
If the target tries to retreat, use the remaining Skill 2 quota again to move the AoE magic. This must be done quickly (the duration is < 3 seconds only).
Finally, do the finishing by releasing the Ultimate Skill which will give damage and also a stun effect. If the target has not been picked off, repeat the Skill 1 and 2 button combination above.
