Lunar-Charged, Genshin Impact's Newest Elemental Reaction
Lunar-charged is a new elemental reaction released by Genshin Impact on the Luna I update or patch 6.0.
At first glance, this reaction is similar to the existing elemental reaction, Electro Charged, only it has a different animation.

Genshin Impact Lunar-Charged Elemental Reaction
This element reaction was released along with the release of the new map, namely Nod-Krai, as a starting point for the Snezhnaya region.
Similar to Electro Charged, this reaction, which was first introduced through the character Ineffa, is a reaction of the Hydro and Electro elements.
The most obvious difference is the animation. While regular Electro Charged displays a blue electric shock on the character or enemy's body, it's a different story.
Meanwhile, Lunar's reaction will provide an animation in the form of a black cloud above the enemy's head that emits purple electricity.
One thing that is clearly visible is the color of the damage (DMG) numbers produced is purple with a mixture of white.
Difference Mechanism with Electro-Charged

At first glance it may seem similar, but actually Lunar-charged is a modified reaction of Electro-Charged.
You could say this reaction is a bit similar to modifications to Dendro elements such as Spread, Burgeon, Hyperbloom, and others.
What differentiates it from the Dendro modification is that this reaction does not use additional elements (e.g. Burgeon is a Hydro + Dendro + Pyro reaction).
Reactions can only be active if the character has Passive Talents, Moonsign Benediction, owned by the characters from Nod Krai.
A character who has the Moonsign Benediction talent will activate a reaction even if they are not a character who has a direct attacking ability.
The most significant thing is that Lunar charged can produce a Critical hit. This means that the character's Crit Rate and Crit DMG are affected.
This is certainly different because the amount of DMG from the Electro-charged reaction is based on the character level and Elemental Mastery.
For significant differences between the two reactions, the author describes the differences in the following table:
Difference in Reaction | Electro-Charged | Lunar-Charged |
Reaction mechanism | Hydro + Electro Elements | Like Electro-charged + passive from Moonsign Benediction |
Stats used for DMG calculation (scaling) | Elemental MasteryCharacter Level | Character level Elemental MasteryCrit DMGCrit Rate |
Reaction marker animation | Purple lightning around the enemy, stuns the enemy and stops the enemy's movement. | A gray cloud with a crescent moon decoration indicates a reaction. The enemy will be struck by lightning for about 2 seconds. |
Difference in calculation | The calculation of the DMG amount is based on Elemental Mastery characters that trigger reactions | Complex calculations of Hydro, Electro, and Moonsign Benediction passive character that triggers reactions |
How to Trigger a reaction | The enemy has been attacked or marked by the Hydro/Electro element, the next Electro/Hydro element attacks, resulting in a reaction. | An electro-charged reaction must occur before it produces a reaction in the form of an increase. |
Characters That Can Trigger Lunar-Charged

Unfortunately, currently there are only two characters who can activate it directly or have the ability to activate this reaction.
The characters are the Nod-Krai Ineffa character released in the previous patch with the newest 5-star character released in Luna I in the second part, namely Flins.
Ineffa's Passive Talents, namely Assemblage Hub and Flins, Old World Secrets, will automatically activate reactions when Electro-charged occurs.
In addition, both characters will also increase the Moonsign level of the characters in the team by 1 Level.
In addition, Aino and Lauma are also included in the characters who still have related reaction bonuses.
Lauma can increase the DMG from Lunar-Bloom (Hydro + Dendro + Electro) and Aino can increase all DMG from all Electro – Hydro reactions.
Other characters who also play a role in this reaction are Ifa and Mona from Passive Talent or Constellation.
For now, the Lunar-charged reaction is still limited because there are still few characters who can use it.
However, the author predicts that this reaction could be an alternative reaction that provides large DMG with a wider AoE area compared to other Electro element attacks.
