Even in season First, he never appeared. But in the second season yesterday, Il Hwan appeared after being found by a Hunter from an American guild.

Sung II Hwan is an S-class Hunter. As a top-class Hunter, he often enters dungeons and gates.

However, during a raid, Il Hwan gets trapped inside a dungeon after successfully defeating the boss monster.

Because he never returned, everyone assumed that II Hwan had died in the Dungeon.

Although he is strong enough to defeat monsters, Il Hwan is still a human who cannot overcome hunger. Fortunately, before he dies of starvation, he is found by Ruler.

The Rulers not only helped Il Hwan, but they also gave him powers. However, in return, Il Hwan was given a mission to kill Shadow Monarch.

He was locked up for 10 years in the dungeon and it took him all the way to the United States.

Then, he was finally found by a Hunter from the Scavenger Guild. Then he was captured by the guild and then met Hwang Dongsoo who was hunting Sung Jinwoo.

After he successfully returned to the human world, Ruler opened an S-Rank Gate in Japan. Then Ruler told Il Hwan that his target, Shadow Monarch, was there.

However, after arriving there he found out that the current Shadow Monarch was his own son, Jin Woo.

Of course, Il Hwan refused to kill his own son. And his decision made the Rulers angry so they wanted to kill II Hwan.

However, the Rulers changed their minds after witnessing Jin Woo kill the Beginning Monarch, Legia.

In that situation, the Rulers finally realized that the Shadow Monarch was not their enemy. But had the same goal as the Rulers.

Thus, the Rulers changed Il Hwan's mission from killing the Shadow Monarch to protecting Jin Woo from the shadows.

Later, Il Hwan will play an important role in the Monarch War Arc. Here, he will help Jin Woo in fighting against the Monarchs.

And the peak is when Jin Woo fights against two Monarchs at once, namely Querehsha and Rakan.

After Jin Woo managed to defeat Querehsha, Jin Woo almost died at the hands of Rakan. Fortunately, Jin Woo was saved by the Shadow Monarch, Ashborn.

Before Jin Woo actually died, Ashborn managed to revive Jin Woo by giving all his powers to Jin Woo.

While Jin Woo was unconscious, II Hwan faced Rakan and Sillad alone. He was strong enough to withstand the attacks of the two Monarchs alone.

Unfortunately, the fight against the two Monarchs instead led Il Hwan to his death.

In the fight, Il Hwan even lost one of his arms. Not only that, Il Hwan also had to lose his life because he used the power of Ruler excessively.

Before his death, Il Hwan had a chance to talk to Jin Woo. In the end, Jin Woo learned what his father had been through for the past 10 years.

However, the reunion was very short-lived as Il Hwan's body then turned to ashes.
