And this also applies to the MM category. By understanding it, you'll be able to understand the dynamics and complexities of the meta in the Gold Lane.
This list is VCGamers for the Season 38 update that occurred on patch 2.1.18 and coincided with the release of the newest MM hero on the original server, namely Obsidia.

Pure MM
The first, and the most common category for MMs, is pure. Heroes in this category have only one role: MM—hence the name "pure."
As of now, there are a total of 18 heroes that fall into the pure M category. And if we break it down further, then all of these heroes can fall into the following sub-categories:
MM Burst
It is a sub-category of MM that produces attacks. bursts as their damage output. In the late game, MM bursts can only be mitigated if the team uses a roamer tank:
- Bruno
- Clint
- Granger
- Irithel
- Ixia
- Layla
- Popol and Kupa
MM Damage per Second (DPS)
Next is the MM DPS sub-category, which includes various heroes who rely on the attack speed attribute to support their basic attacks as their main damage generator:
- Brody
- Claude
- Hanabi
- Karrie
- Melissa
- Mia
- Moscow
- Nathan
- Obsidian
- Wanwan
Hybrid MM
Lastly, there's the hybrid type, which Moonton designed to have multiple damage outputs – including burst and DPS. While this game... Mobile Legends only has one Marksman Hybrid hero, namely Beatrix.
Mixed MM
If there's "pure" MM, then the next category is naturally MM with two mixed roles. Among ML players, this category is better known as "mixed."
And just like before, this category can also be further divided into several subcategories based on the variety of mixes. Here are the complete details:
Primary MM
The first mixed subcategory is Primary MM: this refers to heroes with dual roles, with MM as their primary role. So far, there are only two heroes included:
- Kimmy (DPS): Marksman/Mage
- Lesley (Burst): Marksman/Assassin
Secondary MM
Finally, there are heroes with MM as their side role. Whether these heroes deserve to be categorized as MM heroes remains a matter of debate.
This is because their mechanics are very different from the MM gameplay scope and only share a small portion of its characteristics – making MM only a side role for them.
As of now, there are only three heroes that fall into this sub-category, and there is no indication that Moonton will add more similar heroes in the near future:
- Edith (Burst): Tank/Marksman
- Roger (Burst): Fighter/Marksman
- Yi Sun-shin (Burst): Assassin/Marksman
