Ninja Kamui is a Japanese animated series produced by E&H Production and Sola Entertainment and directed by Park Sunghoo.

The anime had one season with a total of 13 episodes, which aired from February to May 2024 in the United States. The Japanese broadcast followed from July to September 2024.

Synopsis of the Anime Ninja Kamui

This anime tells the story of an ex ninja, Higan who ran away from his clan and hid in a remote area in America with his wife.

To cover his tracks, he also changed his name to Joe Logan. The Higan clan underwent reformation, and control was taken over by a new leader, Yamaji.

One day, a group of assassins managed to locate Higan and capture her. They also killed Higan's entire remaining family.

As a result of the incident, Higan returned to the ninja world seeking revenge. He vowed to exterminate all members of his original clan.

Mike Morris

Mike is an FBI agent assigned to investigate the murder of the Higan family, also known as Joe Logan. He conducts the investigation alongside an assistant named Emma Samanda.

Aska / Emma Samanda

An FBI agent who acts as Mike Morris's assistant in investigating the murder of Joe Logan's family. Behind her identity, Emma Sananda's real identity is Aska.

Aska himself is an important member of a secret organization who once saved Higan's life in the past.

Yamaji

Yamaji is the newest leader of the Hidan clan. He masterminded the murder of the former ninja's family by sending a group of assassins.

Not only Higan, Yamaji also hunted and killed other exiled ninjas to prevent them from spreading the clan's secrets.

When will Ninja Kamui Season 2 be released?

The anime's first season was a commercial success. The combination of the ninja world, robots, and advanced technology made it unique and exciting.

Despite initially denying rumors of a season 2 in June 2024, good news has finally arrived for Higan fans.

In June 2025, Adult Swim as the distribution company for America announced plans for a new season at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

At the event, not only did they confirm that a second season would be made, they also announced that a third season would follow.

The second season titled Ninja Kamui: Red Vendetta is currently in production and will follow Higan's story as he uncovers a new conspiracy on a larger scale.

There's no confirmed release date for the second season yet. However, many predict it will be released in 2026 or 2027.
