Windows 11 New Update, 6 Features Will Be Removed from Windows

Update Windows 11

Windows 11 released globally on October 5, 2021 via upgrades free to users Windows 10 who have met the criteria. Shortly after this operating system started running, a number of users complained that this feature could not be used.

One by one, Windows is fixing the features in Windows 11 that were problematic, such as adding Copilot, various AI, and many more. However, users are still not so satisfied that some of them are unable to access it.

Recently, Windows has released a new version of Windows 11 with serial number 24H2. Where this version will overhaul various things error which is in Windows 11.

However, as a consequence, Windows inevitably has to abandon existing features. Quoting from XDA Developers, here are some of the features that Windows will eliminate below.

All applications on Windows 11 will be 64 bit based

The first feature that Windows will eliminate after version 24H2 is the total cessation of support for 32 bit based applications. In fact, production of this 32 bit based application has been discontinued for quite a long time, even since the launch of Windows 8.

However, in 2024, Windows will completely stop supporting all 32 bit applications which will then be replaced with a 64 bit base which is more effective for running on Windows 11.

However, Windows does not completely eliminate these 32-bit based applications. However, if you still install it, be prepared to face the risks that will come.

The emergence of snipped tools is ready to replace step recorders

The next feature that will be replaced in this Windows 11 update is the Step Recorder feature. This feature is considered quite useful when creating various tutorial content and the like.

The results it presents are not in video form. But rather a screenshot taken from your PC. Apart from that, for each recorded image, you can add information for each step.

After this update was applied, Windows then provided an alternative application with a similar way of working, Snipped Tools. The Snipped Tools here function to record videos or your activities on your PC.

Nevertheless, Microsoft have not confirmed if the Snipped Tools application will be removed. But in the near future, Snipped Tools will really no longer be used and this has been announced via notification at the beginning of this year.

Windows will then remove the Windows Speech Recognition feature which functions to control all your PC commands via recorded voice.

In 2022, Microsoft introduced the Voice Access feature which offers similar functions and is much more sophisticated than Windows Speech Recognition.

One of the features offered by Voice Access includes the availability of various commands that are more complete and easy to learn as well as an interface that is friendly to Windows 11.

Similar to Snipped Tools, Microsoft has not decided to remove it, but at the end of last year, this feature began to be no longer used due to the presence of this new feature.

Wordpad

Wordpad, a mainstay application for Windows users, is good for recording daily needs, writing lesson summaries, and even for saving nuclear code since ancient times, namely Windows 95. It just has to go.

In fact, Wordpad is a second tool for writing and creating documents because it is available from the moment the operating system is installed so it is free without the need to install Microsoft Office which is more expensive.

This is because it has been replaced by Microsoft Notepad or you have to buy a Microsoft Office license to get all the features above. The deletion of the Wordpad application was actually a big mistake from Microsoft.

From a business perspective, you may be invited to buy a license, but not all users can afford it, which is quite exorbitant.

Windows Mixed Reality

There is widespread talk that Virtual Reality technology will become a trend in the future. So Microsoft launched Mixed Reality. Unfortunately this trend didn't last that long.

Windows hasn't been that serious about the feature for a few years and decided to discontinue it. Windows also confirmed that Mixed Reality will be removed in this 24H2 update.

I thought that Mixed Reality was part of Microsoft Hololens. Keep in mind that they are two different devices. Where Microsoft Hololens is held by Hololens itself.

Android Apps Can No Longer Be Used on Windows 11

Finally, Windows will also remove support for Android applications that can be run on Windows 11. Microsoft explained that the reason for this removal is that it could kill the platform.

Actually, this support has been lost, and the only way to enjoy it is with an Android emulator like Bluestack or connecting your Android phone via the Phone Link feature.

The disappearance of these six features may disappoint some users, especially the Wordpad application and Android application support.

But don't worry, it is rumored that this new version of Windows 11 will be equipped with AI integration and a Snapdragon X engine which will change world laptop market trends in the future. So just wait for the breakthrough that Microsoft will provide in the future.
