Understanding the Term Bootloop and How to Overcome It

Bootloop has become one of the “diseases” that we often encounter on many types of modern digital devices – and this is no exception in the context of smartphones as well.

But did you know that this phenomenon doesn't just happen and can be caused by several factors? So, to avoid getting caught in that situation, check out this review.

What is Bootloop?

In fact, the name alone should give you a good idea of this phenomenon. It consists of two words: "boot," meaning "to start," and "loop," meaning "to repeat."

From there we can conclude that bootloop is a "disease" that causes the device/device to get stuck in startup mode (booting) repeatedly.

If this happens, your smartphone won't be able to access the operating system (OS) interface. As a result, access to various apps and most features will be hampered.

Smartphones then become unusable for daily activities. This is why many smartphone users fear this problem.

This is generally a software-related issue. However, hardware damage could also be a contributing factor.

Bootloops are currently one of the most common issues. However, this issue is more common on smartphones from certain vendors!

Judging from the operating system (OS), devices powered by iOS almost never experience issues. And the most common issue is Android, the "people's" OS.

However, if we narrow it down further, this "disease" generally recurs in devices manufactured in China. So, avoid buying smartphones from that brand to minimize the risk.

Tips for Overcoming Bootloop

There are many ways to overcome this problem, from the simplest to the most complex and requiring the expenditure of many resources (costs, time and energy):

1. Restart the device/device

The easiest way is to try restarting. You can do this by pressing the power button for a few seconds.

If the shutdown is successful, turn the device back on using the same steps. If successful, the bootloop will be immediately resolved, and the smartphone will return to normal.

2. Clear cache and system memory via recovery mode feature

Excessive system data accumulation can become corrupted, which can sometimes lead to bootloops. To do this, you'll need to clear the memory and cache.

You can do this in recovery mode. Each manufacturer has a different method for accessing it. Just make sure you wipe the cache for the 'Dalvik' and 'Mounts & Storage' options.

3. Delete data

If clearing the cache and memory still doesn't work, another option is to wipe the data via a factory reset. This will restore your smartphone to its original state.

And of course, as we understand with a factory reset, all app data, media (photos and videos), and other files will also be deleted. So, make sure you're okay with that, okay?

4. Flash/reinstall ROM

If the methods above don't work, you might need to move on to another method: flashing. This requires the use of another device—usually a desktop/laptop.

The goal is to access the smartphone's "subconscious" and fix it from there. It's highly recommended to entrust this process to someone more experienced.

5. Take it to a service center

And the final step is to take your smartphone to an authorized service center. This will rule out the possibility that the damage is hardware-related.

The service center will then explain the location of the damage and the repair solution. Just prepare sufficient funds in case a part needs to be replaced.
