A glance at Skirk in Genshin Impact

Skirk is a 5 star DPS released by Genshin Impact In patch 5.7. Childe's Master was released alongside a new 4-star character from Mondstadt, Dahila.
In lore, this character is said not to use Vision's power, but rather to use a power called The Seven-Shifting Serpent.
The Seven-Shifting Serpent is a mysterious power that comes from the Abyss. It is said that Childe's sword master got it because he was taught by Surtalogi.
Surtalogi is known to be an important character because he is one of the 5 Sinners, characters who are thought to be the cause of the cataclysm in Khaen'riah.
Surtalogi is also known to be a friend of Dainsleif and are fellow knights who studied under the same teacher.
Just like the Traveler, this character is known not to come from Teyvat or is referred to as an Outlander.
Unfortunately, he fell into the Abyss and met Surtalogi. Surtalogi then taught him how to fight until he became one of the best fighters.
Until finally he met Childe who also accidentally fell into the Abyss and became Childe's sword teacher so that Childe could survive there.
Ability Priority

The power of the student of Surtalogi is not an elemental power even though it is in the form of Cryo. However, you don't need to worry, attacks can still provide Cryo elemental reactions (Melt and Freeze), but they don't produce Elemental Orbs.
This is actually a bit similar to Mavuika where the Fighting Spirit used for Elemental Burst is obtained from using Nightsoul Blessing.
New energy will be obtained from Serpent's Subtlety. To get this Serpent's Subtlety you must use Elemental Skill and use Void Rift.
Passive will produce Void Rift if there is a Frozen, Superconduct, Cryo Swirl, or Cryo Crystallize reaction on the enemy. So, team composition will be very important in this build.
You can use Void Rift with 3 methods, namely:
- Uses Charged Attack while in Seven-Phase Flash mode.
- Using Elemental Burst
- Long press (hold) Elemental Skill.
In addition, since energy is only generated from Elemental Skills, you should prioritize maximizing the Elemental Skill talent level.
Elemental Skill will increase the amount of DMG from Normal Attack and RES in enemy attacks (will not bounce if hit by an enemy attack).
You can see this stage marked by the change of clothes from white to black or called Seven-Phase Flash mode.
Next, you have to max out Elemental Burst, followed by Normal Attack.
Genshin Impact Skirk Build Recommendations
With gameplay and kit mechanics that rely on Serpent's Subtlety, this guitar-playing character requires a special build.
Constellation Recommendations

Of the 6 total constellations, the most worth it you get is C(1) because it can increase ATK stat in Seven-Phase Flash mode up to 500%.
C(2) and C(4) are also pretty good to get because they increase the Serpent's Subtlety points gained while using attacks.
Artifact and Weapon Recommendations

Elemental Energy has no effect on Skirk builds. Other playable characters will usually need Elemental Energy to use Elemental Burst.
This Elemental Energy is usually obtained from the regeneration of Elemental Orbs or Particles.
Elemental Orbs can be obtained from several things, for example, regenerated by Battery support characters such as Bennett and Kazuha, or from using a character's Elemental Skill.
Stats such as Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge will certainly not be needed by the owner of the “Crystallina” constellation.
The stats you should prioritize are ATK, Crit DMG/ Rate, Cryo DMG Bonus. Avoid Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery stats.
The best choice of artifact for Skirk is Finale of the Deep Galleries which fits character kits that do not use Elemental Energy.
Other options are Marechaussee Hunter and Blizzard Strayer which are very standard for Cryo characters.
The best weapon is Azurelight. However, swords with high ATK like Haran Gepakku Futsu and Mistsplitter Reforged are still an alternative option. Other alternatives are:
- The BlackSwords
- Primordial Jade Cutter
- The Untamed Uraku
- Kagotsurube Isshin
- Calamity of Eshu
- Finale of The Deep (can craft)
- Harbinger of Dawn (beginner friendly)
Team Recommendations for Skirk

Team composition becomes vital for Skirk due to the passive that generates Void Rifts from certain Cryo reactions Frozen, Superconduct, Cryo Swirl, or Cryo Crystallize.
If you don't produce a Void Rift, it will certainly reduce the optimization of your abilities, which will cause team combinations to be very limited because Melt cannot be used.
Another passive will also be active if only Hydro and Cryo characters are on the team. The passive that will be active is increasing the Elemental Skill level.
Thus, the team is increasingly exclusive to Cryo and Hydro characters only. Here are some team compositions that the author recommends:
- Skirk + Escoffier + Furina + Yelan
- Skrik + Furina + Shenhe + Escoffier
- Skirk + Siggewine + Xingqiu + Citlali
- Skirk + Kaeya + Dahlia + Barbara (F2P friendly)
- Skirk + Rosaria + Xingqiu + Layla (F2P friendly)
