Adaptive Attack Is? Understanding the Concept of MLBB Attacks
Adaptive attack is one of the concepts that Moonton introduced since Season 33 officially went live. Yep, they implemented this in order to "fix" the mechanical system. MLBB.
In addition to being able to summarize existing mechanics, this concept also provides flexibility in mixing builds. Now for those who don't really understand the concept, you better check it out.

What is Adaptive Attack?

Courtiers Land of Dawn experienced must be very familiar with this concept. But for those who are new to the game or have been on hiatus for a long time, it will definitely be foreign.
Because, Moonton just introduced this system in patch note 1.8.92 which was released in mid-2024. So, its age is still considered “young”: only about 4 seasons.
Well, in short, adaptive attack is a system that makes your attack damage adjust to the hero type automatically: more towards physical or magical.
If this attribute is embedded, then any hero is allowed to use it. Players don't need to be confused. Especially to the point of feeling worse: being accused of not understanding build!
How It Works in MLBB
Now let's move on to the practical part of this system. That way, you can easily understand the concept more fully. Actually, it's not that hard to understand.
Technically, this system will make certain items or emblems/talents automatically give physical or magical damage. Of course, this will be matched with the characteristics of the hero.
If your hero has more physical attack attributes than magic power, then this item will automatically increase physical attributes. And this also applies vice versa.
So what if it turns out that the hero's physical attack and magic power are "admittedly" the same? Well, if that's the case, then the only thing that is used as a benchmark is the damage type of the hero (skill).
The important thing to remember is that this attribute is very “exclusive”. You have to know what items and emblems/talents have it so you don’t make the wrong build.
ML Items with Adaptive Attack

Expert Glove
This item is a basic item for attributes that have adaptive attacks. All advanced items that have this attribute require Expert Glove as this component as a basic item.
Winter Crown
Winter Crown is an item magic which provides an immunity effect (cannot be attacked) for a while. This item is universal and is commonly used by heroes who play the role of jungler nor roamers (support).
Fleeting Time
This item is a magic item that reduces skill cooldown. Tank heroes with crowd control abilities typically use this item to shorten the cooldown of their ultimate.
Queen's Wings
Even though this item is included in the defense item category, Queen's Wings is actually more often used by fighter heroes with sustain abilities in the WA arena.
Sky Piercer
Sky Piercer is a must-have item for any damage-dealing team hero, whether relying on physical or magical attacks. This item provides an additional effect that can deliver an instant kill on heroes with low HP.
Emblem with Adaptive Attack

- Common (+22): Emblem that increases sustain capacity for thin damagers (often mages). It makes sense that they are finally equipped with this attribute;
- Assassin (+10): There are several magic type assassins who are more suited to using this emblem so they need to be equipped with adaptive attack power as well;
- Fighter (+10): The fighter hero line-up is now quite diverse, mixed between magic and physical types. So, it would be confusing if this emblem didn't have adaptive capacity, right?;
- Marksman (+16): Although not many, there are also marksman heroes with magic damage who need this emblem. It's natural that the marksman emblem also gets an adaptive attack.
Talent with Adaptive Attack

- Thrill/General Talent 1/(+16): The only talent that specifically provides additional adaptive attacks;
- Impure Rage and Lethal Ignition/Main Talent: These two items provide adaptive damage attributes – similar to adaptive attack.

Adaptive Attack FAQ
It is an attribute on an emblem, talent, or item that automatically adjusts the type of attack—Physical Attack or Magic Power—according to the highest attribute of the hero using it.
The system will read the hero's dominant status:
If using a Mage hero (eg: Eudora), Adaptive Attack will become Magic Power.
If using a Physical hero (eg: Granger/Claude), Adaptive Attack will become Physical Attack.
The value added is the highest value at that time.
No.
Adaptive Attack: Increases the amount of damage (Physical/Magic).
Adaptive Penetration: Adjusts penetration (Physical/Magic) to penetrate the opponent's defense based on the dominant damage type.
Flexibility: Heroes with mixed attack types or heroes hybrid will not lose potential damage.
Emblem Efficiency: The same talent can be used by different heroes without having to change emblem sets.
Items: Winter Crown, some Project NEXT post-patch items.
Emblem: Talent Rupture (Adaptive Penetration) or other talents in the new emblem system that provide flexible statistical bonuses.
