Redmane Castle Location
Where is this castle located? Redmane Castle is located at the lower end of the Caelid region. One of the furthest places in the Elden Ring.
For first timers, reaching this location will take quite a long time. Therefore, you can follow the following guide to save more time.
First, head to the Dragon Burnt Ruins in Limgrave just south of The First Step Site of Grace. Here you will find an underground vault and a treasure chest.
When you open it, the chest will trap you and send you to a hut inside the Sellia Crystal Tunnel. Exit the hut and immediately take the right path, going down the hill past all the crystal mines.
Under the mining site, you will see a tunnel that will lead you to the entrance. Activate the Site of Grace there.
After exiting the tunnel, you will find yourself in a foul swamp in Caelid. Ride the Torrent down to the shore and turn left. Follow the coastal path until you reach Sellia Under Stair Site of Grace.
From here, head towards the nearest stairs leading to Sellia Town of Sorcery. Turn south and follow the main road out of town to the front gate.
Continue following the path southeast until you find the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank Site of Grace and a Merchant who will give you a map.
With the map, you can see the location of the castle in the south. Continue following the path and avoid the various enemies that are visible.
Next, turn right when you find the Golden Seed, don't forget to take it before continuing your journey. Follow the path until you meet the Impassable Greatbridge Site of Grace which is behind the giant machine.
Go back up the Torrent and cross the bridge. Beware of the fire from the towers around you. Continue along the path while avoiding enemies until you reach the castle gate.
Since the front gate is locked, the only way to get in is by taking a detour. Head to the right and continue up the hill until you find a secret passage around the castle.
You will eventually find a small cemetery at the end of the secret path. Climb the ladder that leads up to the Redmane Castle wall.
Once you have successfully climbed up, go down the wooden path and turn right to reach the roof inside the castle walls. Use the ladder to get inside and go through the nearest door.
Enter the barracks and open the back door of the castle, this will make it easier for you to enter without using the stairs again. Here, you will find the Smithing Stone (5) and Armorer's Cookbook 5 items.
Redmane Castle Elden Ring Guide
Redmane Castle has two conditions. At the beginning of the game, this place will be full of enemies and all rooms are open to you.
But in certain circumstances, you will trigger the Radahn Festival and change the state of the castle completely. Before you start, it's a good idea to collect all the available items first. Here's a guide.
Triggering the Radahn Festival
The Radahn Festival can trigger drastic changes to Redmane Castle. There are three ways you can trigger it, namely:
- Activate any Site of Grace in Altus Plateau or Mt. Gelmir (the Site of Grace in Volcano Manor does not count, you must defeat the Abductor Virgins or Rykard in order to trigger the festival of Raya Lucaria)
- Tell Blaidd about Radahn at Siofra River (You must complete the quest from Ranni)
- Talk to Iji about Jerren (You must complete Ranni's quest)
When the festival is active, all soldiers in and around the castle will disappear. The road from the Impassable Greatbridge to the Chamber Outside the Plaza Site of Grace will be active and cause a number of doors to close.
The plaza will be filled with people NPCs who will take part in the Radahn Festival, including Blaidd and Alexander. You will get the Polite Bow Gesture item if you talk to Finger Maiden Thorelina.
Guide During Radahn Festival
During the Radahn festival, travel to Redmane Castle Elden Ring using the teleporter in the watchtower of Fort Gael. This teleporter will transport you to the outer outskirts of the fort.
Since the main gate is locked, follow the cliff path from the southwest. Here, you will see a weapons storage tower. Go down the two flights of stairs until you come to a corpse and take the x1 Smithing Stone (6) item from it.
Climb the stairs back up and head north until you reach the top of the castle. Defeat the Teardrop Scarab to get x1 Ash of War: Flaming Strike.
Other items, x1 Miquella's Lily is behind the tree and you'll find x8 Smoldering Butterfly from the corpses in the area.
Take the stairs up and turn left. Keep following the path until you reach the roof and find another staircase to the west. Go down it.
You will see a room with a number of enemies. Take the x5 Armorer's Cookbook and x1 Smithing Stone (5) and head back outside.
Turn left and you will see another room. Use the bricks to jump. You will see a hut on the left.
Climb the stairs and take x1 Golden Rune (6) behind the wooden chest. Go back down and go east until you see the plaza entrance.
Ignore the two Lion Guardians and continue through the courtyard. Head into the room containing the Chamber Outside the Plaza Site of Grace on the right.
After activating it, go back down and defeat the Lion Guardians present. You will get x2 Somber Smithing Stone (4), x2 Beast Blood, and x4 Old Fang.
Back on the main page where the Lion Guardian was previously located, you will see a teleporter. Use it to move to the Impassable Greatbridge Site of Grace.
Activate it and go inside the castle. You will see the NPCs who are gathering for the Radahn festival. Talk to Jerren to start a cutscene.
Go to the chapel by climbing the stairs to get x1 Smithing Stone (6) and exit through the east door to the elevator. You will see a teleporter gate to meet up with Starscourge Radahn.
After Radahn Festival Guide
Once the castle is back to its original condition, head to the Chamber Outside the Plaza Site of Grace and turn right. You will meet the Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight.
Defeat both of them and head left. You will encounter a group of flamethrowers ahead of you. You can choose to pass them or defeat them and go up the stairs at the end of the room.
To the left of the stairs is a path leading to an open tower door. Follow the path and you will be confronted by an Iron Virgin with a scythe. Just ignore her and continue towards the door.
Inside the tower you will meet the Redmane Knight, defeat him to open a chest containing a Smithing Stone (6). Take the Red-Hot Whetblade from the corpse in the room.
Return to the tower entrance and glide down to the lower courtyard. Go through the open door to the left of the tower door (where the two Lionguards were previously).
You will find a corpse on the far left with the Armorer's Cookbook (4) item. Next go to the Chamber Outside the Plaza Site of Grace and pass all the flamethrowing soldiers until you reach the Redmane Castle Waygate.
On the left you will see a staircase leading to an open room. Inside the room you will see a staircase.
Go up the stairs and you will see Pumpkin Head guiding three corpses. The first corpse carries the Flamberge item, the second corpse carries a Smithing Stone (3), and the last corpse carries a Smithing Stone (5).
After you finish defeating Starscourge Radahn and collecting the items in Redmane Castle, you can continue your journey.
