Abandoned Child

Yoriichi Tsugikuni, born as twins to the noble Tsugikuni clan during the Sengoku era, had to face a dark fate from birth. Considered a bad omen by society at that time, the birth of twins was thought to trigger conflict in the succession to the throne, resulting in tension among the nobility.
Moreover, Yoriichi has a strange, conspicuous mark on his head, adding to the complexity of negative beliefs towards him.
In his family tragedy, Yoriichi almost became a victim of murder by his father who wanted to eliminate the risk of conflict. However, strong resistance from the mother, who was furious over the decision, succeeded in preventing the tragedy.
Even though his father gave up his intention to kill Yoriichi, consent was given under certain conditions. Namely, Yoriichi is required to be sent to a temple when he reaches the age of 10, where he is expected to become a monk.
Not Getting Love
Even though he was born as a twin, Yoriichi Tsugikuni experienced treatment that was drastically different from his twin brother, Michikatsu. In their household, Yoriichi was neglected and given food and education that was far below the standards given to Michikatsu.
His residence was isolated in another corner of the house, and Yoriichi was even considered deaf because he rarely or never spoke. He often looks like a weak child and always sticks to his sickly mother.
Yoriichi's struggle with his identity reached its peak at the age of seven. While watching Michikatsu practicing his sword, Yoriichi suddenly decided to speak for the first time. Full of surprise, he expressed his desire to become a samurai like his older brother.
Michikatsu, who had thought Yoriichi was deaf, was shocked to hear those words. However, a dilemma arises when Michikatsu realizes that Yoriichi, at the age of ten, is required to become a monk at a temple.
One day, an opportunity comes for Yoriichi to prove himself. One of their father's subordinates gave him the opportunity to practice the sword, teach stances and prepare to attack.
Using breathing techniques, Yoriichi manages to defeat the subordinate with a stunning blow, even surpassing Michikatsu's training achievements. However, after the incident, Yoriichi refused to continue sword training, showing his reluctance to harm others.
Mark On Forehead

The source of the extraordinary power possessed by Yoriichi Tsugikuni in the anime series Kimetsu no Yaiba turns out to come from a mysterious mark located on his forehead. Although his father considered this mark a curse, Yoriichi discovered that the mark gave him extraordinary physical strength.
This explanation was proposed by Yoriichi himself, who revealed that the mark on his forehead was the key to his extraordinary abilities.
Yoriichi reveals that thanks to the mark, he is able to do extraordinary things, including the ability to see the bodies of living creatures transparently.
Although his father believed that the mark carried a curse, Yoriichi saw it as a source of power that drastically differentiated him from his twin brother, Michikatsu.
