MPL ID S16 Grand Final Results: ONIC Emerges as Champions
After lasting for approximately 3 months, finally the Indonesian MLBB seasonal event has ended with an official result that became the champion. MPL ID S16 is ONIC!

MPL ID S16 Grand Final
After successfully defeating EVOS in the Lower Bracket Final round, AE-even managed to get a ticket to M7. But their journey isn't over yet: the Grand Final match vs. ONIC.
If they win, it will be the first time in AE's long history that they'll hold the MPL trophy. However, if they lose, ONIC's dominance will remain intact for the next two seasons.
Of course, the odds for AE to win this match are extremely slim, given their loss to ONIC in the Upper Bracket Final. Here's a detailed summary:
Match 1 (ONIC 0 – 1 AE)
In the first match, AE seemed to want to be more aggressive. Nino's Yu Zhong was eager to take center stage: to make the most impactful contribution to the game.
The goal was one: to restrain ONIC's midlaner, SANZ, who we know can be quite disruptive. This strategy proved successful, leading to victory.
It was no surprise that when the match ended, the officials immediately awarded the MVP title to Nino as the player who “hit the hardest” – bringing the opening victory for his team.
Match 2 (ONIC 1 – 1 AE)
In the next match, the same strategy didn't seem to work. In fact, ONIC's survival wasn't solely dependent on the success of midlaner SANZ's movements.
Even though Kimmy was constantly under pressure from Nino's Yu Zhong, the other team members were still able to make good initiations and achieve many objectives.
This time, Kairi and Hayabusa “Kakashi” truly looked like an S-rank Jonin, picking off AE's damagers on point. It's no wonder they were MVPs!
Match 3 (ONIC 2 – 1 AE)
This time, both teams opted for a no-marksman meta. ONIC, in particular, wanted to play fast—with Kiboy picking Hilda to counter Yazukee's Lancelot.
This strategy was quite profitable, considering that Yazukee was already behind Kairi's Hayabusa in level by just four minutes. As a result, he was busy farming, leaving his team to fight without a core.
However, the MVP position was actually taken by SANZ and Yve who started to "shine" from the first minute: guarding ONIC's highground so that they always had the upper hand in teamfights.
Match 4 (ONIC 3 – 1 AE)
Here, ONIC managed to get to match point after successfully pressuring AE to score. After losing 2-1, AE's mentality seemed to have faded, allowing ONIC to play aggressively from the start.
The strategy is 1-3-1: the mid trio of Kalea-Kimmy-Lancelot continuously farm the enemy jungle. Not only creeps, but even if an AE player is seen alone, they punish them without hesitation.
And the MVP of this match was Lutpiii with his Alice. His rotation in the 4th minute was able to break AE's outer mid turret, expanding the farming movement of ONIC's mid trio.
Match 5 (ONIC 4 – 1 AE)
Although ONIC ultimately dispatched AE very quickly (giving only one victory point), in this match, there was a lot of back and forth and the objective was achieved.
Indeed, the MVP of the MPL ID S16 Finals went to Kairi for his flawless play. However, none of this would have been possible without the support of Kiboy the roamer.
