Cerita utama dari Return to Monkey Island terjadi setelah Tales of Monkey Island. Game ini juga menampilkan cerita lanjutan dari “Le Chuck’s Revenge”.<\/p>\n
Sudah bertahun-tahun lamanya sejak Guybrush terlibat dalam pertarungan dengan musuh bebuyutannya, LeChuck sang bajak laut zombie.<\/p>\n
Cinta sejatinya, Elaine Marley telah mengalihkan fokusnya dari pemerintahan sedangkan Guybrush sendiri masih belum merasa puas karena tidak berhasil menemukan rahasia Monkey Island.<\/p>\n

Kamu perlu menjelajahi beberapa lokasi, mencari informasi dengan berbicara pada karakter NPC, dan mengumpulkan berbagai item.<\/p>\n
Inventory dalam game ini juga sekarang menggunakan tampilan drag and drop\u00a0<\/em>untuk memudahkan pemain memakai atau menggabungkan item.<\/p>\n

Sebuah item koleksi juga ditambahkan dalam bentuk kartu trivia, tersembunyi secara acak hampir diseluruh lokasi dalam game.<\/p>\n
Jika berhasil menemukannya, mereka akan tersimpan dalam Trivia Book. Kartu tersebut akan memberikan sebuah pertanyaan pada pemain.<\/p>\n
Apabila jawaban yang diberikan benar, maka kartu tersebut nantinya akan berubah warna menjadi emas dan tetap tersimpan dalam buku.<\/p>\n
Sebaliknya, mereka akan menghilang dan kamu harus mencari ulang dilokasi berbeda jika tak berhasil menebak jawaban dari pertanyaannya.<\/p>\n
Tampilan game ini berbeda dengan seri sebelumnya, saat menggerakkan kursor pada zona interaktif akan ada sebuah dialog singkat muncul dan memberi opsi tindakan yang akan diambil Guybrush.<\/p>\n
