This time we will review one earphone from UGREEN<\/a>, actually these are not the latest earphones, but surely many of you are curious about the audio quality of these earphones.<\/p>\n

UGREEN EP103 is a wired HiFi earphone that provides various port variants, from 3.5mm jack (30637), type-c (30638), and lightning (30631).<\/p>\n

Let's discuss one by one, starting from the build quality, features, and audio quality of the UGREEN EP103 earphones.<\/p>\n

Build Quality UGREEN EP103<\/h2>\n

These earphones have good build quality, solid and sturdy plastic housing, using a U (UGREEN) logo ornament on the back as a sweetener when worn in the ear.<\/p>\n

UGREEN EP103 adopts an in-ear model with comfortable rubber eartips when used.<\/p>\n

In the sales package we are also given 3 pairs of spare eartips of various sizes, ranging from small, medium to large.<\/p>\n

The all-in-one control buttons also feel sturdy with a neat finish, so you don't need to be afraid of them breaking quickly if you click\/press them frequently.<\/p>\n

We turn to the cable used, the material is TPE, which is rubber like earphones in general, but don't misunderstand Vicigers, the TPE material used in these earphones has a quality above standard, aka premium.<\/p>\n

Don't compare it to earphones priced at 10 thousand which are sold online, yes, the rubber is easily torn\/damaged when bent.<\/p>\n

UGREEN himself claims that this cable is able to withstand loads of up to 2 KG, and is also claimed to have passed a series of other reliability tests, such as press test<\/em> 5,000 times on the control button, swing test\u00a0<\/em>5,000 times, and temperature test under conditions of -40\u00b0C to 75\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Apart from that, after we did a random test of rolling the cable to put it in a trouser pocket or bag, the fun part is that this earphone cable doesn't get tangled easily, so you can easily unravel the cable to make it straight again.<\/p>\n

As stated in the written specifications, the UGREEN EP103 earphones are equipped with noise reduction features, clear microphone, IPX 5 waterproof, and control buttons with various functions.<\/p>\n
After we try the noise reduction on these earphones it is quite good, supported by the quality of the eartips which help keep outside sounds from being heard from interfering with the sound from the earphones.<\/p>\n
For the microphone itself, it can produce clear sound when we test recording with the default smartphone application, but there is a decrease in quality when used for telephone calls, the sound received by the other party is not clear, the sound sounds far away.<\/p>\n
When testing we tried with several smartphones, namely the Poco X3 GT 5G, Poco X5 Pro 5G, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE 2020. However, the decrease in the sound quality of the microphone was still felt on all devices when making regular calls with cellular numbers.<\/p>\n
But if we use the telephone with third-party applications that we try, such as WhatsApp & Google Meet, the decrease in microphone quality is not as bad as if we make regular telephone calls with a cellular number.<\/p>\n
As far as we have tested, FaceTime is a way to make calls without decreasing the quality of the microphone in these earphones.<\/p>\n
