For fans of the survival genre game horror<\/a> surely no stranger to the game Outlast 2. This game was created and released by Red Barrels in 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.<\/p>\n

Outlast 2 is set in the same universe as the previous game, but this game has a story setting with new characters.<\/p>\n

Outlast 2 Plot<\/h2>\n

This game takes place in a remote village located around the Arizona valley. Outlast 2 takes place after the Mount Massive Asylum massacre.<\/p>\n
You will play as Blake Langermann, a cameraman who goes to southern Arizona to investigate the murder of a woman with his wife, Lynn Langermann.<\/p>\n

The woman was found 8 months pregnant on the side of the road. According to records, he later committed suicide in the hospital where he was evacuated.<\/p>\n
Because the terrain is difficult to access, Blake and Lynn use a helicopter to reach their destination. Unfortunately, both of them had an accident with unknown reasons.<\/p>\n
Blake, who woke up from fainting, realized he could not find his wife anywhere. Blake finally realized that he was trapped in a village with members of a scary cult.<\/p>\n
In these conditions, Blake must struggle to find Lynn and find a way out of the village filled with aggressive residents with many strange events.<\/p>\n

Gameplay Outlast 2<\/h2>\n
Like the previous games in the series, Outlast 2 is made using the slightly modified Unreal 3 engine.<\/p>\n
The developers of this game said that they can use assets that existed in previous games such as animation and story scripts.<\/p>\n
In this game, players can run, cower behind objects to avoid being chased, and hide in various places such as barrels, lockers, tall grass to underwater.<\/p>\n

A sprint restriction mechanism that will decrease the stamina of the player over time. The movement system in this game has also been updated so that players can slide while running.<\/p>\n
If injured, you can restore your health bar by using a bandage to cover the wound. However, this takes a few seconds and can be interrupted by enemies near you.<\/p>\n
Red Barrels also added that they are re-shuffling the enemy AI, so the pattern will be different from the first game.<\/p>\n
Camcorder use also reappears with a slight difference in HUD and overall appearance. Camcorders can be used to record events within Temple Gate.<\/p>\n

All recordings in the Camcorder can be played back with the addition of Blake's commentary behind it. The Night Vision feature of the Camcorder is made to help players move in the dark.<\/p>\n
However, the Camcorder requires a battery to stay on. Using the Night Vision feature will make the battery run out faster. You can find batteries in certain places in this game.<\/p>\n

In addition, the camcorder can have a sound sensor to detect the location of enemies near you who are visually invisible.<\/p>\n
The jumpscare and tense atmosphere that is built in this game makes the horror sensation rise to the maximum level. The use of supportive sounds also makes the atmosphere feel more tense.<\/p>\n

Game Difficulty Level<\/h2>\n
Outlast 2 has a total of 5 levels of difficulty with a brief description of the challenges within. The difficulty level is Story<\/strong> Mode<\/strong>, Normal<\/strong>, Hard<\/strong>, Nightmare<\/strong>, and Insane<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
Story mode has a lower difficulty than the standard version with enemies that are slower, less meticulous, and deal less damage to the player.<\/p>\n
This mode offers more space to explore the world of Outlast 2. Several meetings and chases have also been reduced or even eliminated.<\/p>\n
Hard and Nightmare offer a harder level of difficulty than the standard mode. Batteries will become rarer, more aggressive enemies in pursuit, to higher damage.<\/p>\n
In addition to the obstacles for Nightmare mode, Insane Mode requires players to finish the game without even dying.<\/p>\n
