Story Background<\/h2>\n

Tales of Berseria is set in a world called Desolation, more specifically in the Holy Midgand Empire. The Holy Midgand Empire is a powerful nation that rules over the islands in Desolation.<\/p>\n
This game shares the same world as Tales of Zestiria, which takes place in the past. There are countless islands and Midgand rules them all even beyond the seas.<\/p>\n
The mainland and island areas in this game are divided into several territories. There is another race named Malakim that lives side by side with humans.<\/p>\n
Malakim are supernatural spirits who were sealed and enslaved by humans to harness their magical abilities after being made visible to normal human eyes as a result of Advent.<\/p>\n
Advent is an incident that occurred 3 years before Velvet Crowe's escape from the prison island called Titania.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a disease known as daemonblight begins to spread throughout the kingdom. This disease deprives people of their humanity and common sense.<\/p>\n
Daemonblight turns people into monsters called Daemons that threaten world peace.<\/p>\n
Together with the ruler of the Holy Midgand Empire, formed a theocratic order called the Abbey. Abbey has great political and religious influence in the kingdom.<\/p>\n
The Exorcists, soldiers from the Abbey, are tasked with bringing peace and order by eradicating Daemin from the world. They took various extreme things to achieve this goal.<\/p>\n

This game has 6 characters that you can play, namely Velvet Crowe, Laphicet, Rokurou Rangetsu, Magilou, Eizen, and Eleanor Hume.<\/p>\n
Velvet Crowe<\/h3>\n
Velvet Crowe is the main protagonist in this game. She is a 19 year old woman who is on a revenge mission.<\/p>\n
He uses a weapon in the form of a knife that is in his right glove, leg, and left demon's arm. Velvet Crowe joins the Aifread pirate group to fight a common enemy.<\/p>\n
Laphicet<\/h3>\n
Laphicet is a 10 year old boy of the Malak race who becomes the light for the "darkness" of Velvet.<\/p>\n
He has a compass which is the core item of the story, where this compass directs Lapphicet to go to a place that will help him think. Her weapon is paper like Lailah.<\/p>\n
Rokurou Rangetsu<\/h3>\n
This character is a black-haired man in samurai attire who transforms into a Daemon but retains his senses.<\/p>\n
Rokurou follows Velvet to repay his debt and fights using twin daggers as weapons.<\/p>\n
Magilou<\/h3>\n
The next character is Magilou, a mysterious woman who introduces herself as a witch. Seemingly extroverted and talkative, Magilou harbors a terrible secret.<\/p>\n
Eizen<\/h3>\n
Despite his youthful appearance, Eizen turns out to be a 1000 year old man. He is the first crew member of the Aifread pirates who are searching for their missing captain, Van Aifread.<\/p>\n
Eleanor Hume<\/h3>\n
Eleanor is a loving woman. He was an exorcist with the rank of praetor who came from the Abbey. Eleanor will join Velvet after completing several events.<\/p>\n

Tales of Berseria has several new features added in the game. The first item is called "Potentites", which can provide additional abilities and effects when fighting.<\/p>\n
Bandai also introduced a feature called "Code Red Daemon Hunting" where players will fight a Daemon called "Code Red" to get powerful items as prizes.<\/p>\n
Players can meet Code Red Daemon without talking to the quest giver first.<\/p>\n
Another feature is called "Wandering Enemies" where when players meet certain conditions in battle, special Daemons will appear and are more dangerous than Code Red Daemons.<\/p>\n
This special daemon will appear several times, and become invisible for a period of time so strategizing in this fight is very important.<\/p>\n
Like Tales of Zestiria, this game makes use of Katz that can be collected to open \u201cKatz Boxes\u201d which contain special items such as equipment and accessories.<\/p>\n

Tales of Berseria is the first game to allow some colorful costume DLC, such as characters appearing in screen menus.<\/p>\n
This game also introduces a cooking level feature for each character where they can cook food that can increase their skill level and efficiency.<\/p>\n
A ground transportation called geoboards\u00a0<\/strong>you can also use and set according to the character's appearance.<\/p>\n
A character design veteran from the Tales game series, Mutsumi Inomata personally designed Velvet.<\/p>\n
In collaboration with the famous animation studio, Ufotable, Tales of Berseria was successfully animated with impressive scenes. The atmosphere of this game manages to present an epic and emotional storytelling.<\/p>\n
