Game Strands or also known as Strands NYT is an online game created by The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This word search game was released in beta in March 2024 and is part of the New York Times collection of games.<\/p>\n

For those of you who are fans of word games, there's no harm in making Strands NYT an option. How is the gameplay of this game?<\/p>\n

Strands is an online word search game where the puzzles will always be updated once every day.<\/p>\n
When you go inside site<\/a> Here, you will be greeted by a pop up with three slides containing a guide to playing.<\/p>\n
Strands has a fairly simple appearance with a random arrangement of letters in a 6 x 8 box.<\/p>\n
Unlike most word search games, Strands has a more flexible direction. Players can compose words from any direction.<\/p>\n
The puzzles in this game also contain \u201cSpangram\u201d a word that can be connected from left, right, up or down which can reveal what the puzzle means that day.<\/p>\n

Each puzzle that appears has a theme that will act as a clue to finding the word you need to look for that day.<\/p>\n
Players can combine several words to form a meaning and collect them to get 1 clue.<\/p>\n
To get 1 clue, players need to find 3 words with no correlation to the puzzle that is currently the theme.<\/p>\n
For some people, finding the theme of the puzzles in Strands is quite challenging and very difficult to do.<\/p>\n
So, it is not uncommon for many people to deliberately share answers to the day's theme online, for example via X.<\/p>\n

Besides NYT Strands, The New York Times has several other games in their \u201clibrary\u201d such as Spelling Bee and Vertex.<\/p>\n
The idea for making this game started with their Research Director, Juliette Seive, who developed a prototype which we would later know as Strands.<\/p>\n
After coming up with the idea, he then presented his idea at The New York Times' annual event for games.<\/p>\n
The prototype of Strands was finally approved by The New York Times committee several weeks later.<\/p>\n
An American monthly magazine, Vanity Fair, also reported that in 2023 The New York Times was in the process of developing a new word search game.<\/p>\n
After going through a fairly long process, finally on March 4 2024 the NYT Strands game was successfully launched in beta version and could be played directly on their official game site.<\/p>\n
The puzzles posted by Strands himself were edited by Tracy Bennett. Tracy is also known to have edited another game called Wordle for The New York Times.<\/p>\n
